It can be used as a shade in front of a small courtyard and bedroom window, a small scaffolding, and a fence. It can also be planted on the ground. Let's take a look at when the morning glory will be planted.

Morning glory planting time

Morning glory is usually planted in spring and summer, and breeding usually uses the sowing method, which does not require budding or soil. Of course, if there is nutritious soil and so on, ordinary flower soil is fine. When sowing, soak the seeds in warm water, treat them moderately with sulfuric acid after 4 to 6 hours, sprinkle them in the soil and cover them with thick soil, about 1 cm. After sowing, cover soil about 2 cm, and then water thoroughly, generally about 3-5 days can germinate, June-July can blossom, the most important thing is light, in the case of sufficient light, it is easy to blossom.

Morning glory flowering time

Morning glory, which blossoms slowly from June to October, usually blossoms slowly at 4 to 5 o'clock in the morning, and withered at about noon, because the morning glory is large and thin, and it is rich in moisture. When the sun shines, the water in the flower evaporates in a short time, and if it is in a shady place, the morning glory will wither more slowly, sometimes even in the afternoon.

Planting management of morning glory

1. Water and fertilizer: the cultivation soil with good drainage should be selected for the cultivation of morning glory, which should be given to an environment with sufficient sunshine and good ventilation. During the growth period, when the surface of the potted soil is slightly dry, irrigation is needed, and once every half a month, the nitrogen fertilizer should not be too much, so that the stems and leaves should not be too luxuriant, and the potted plants should be supported by pillars.

2. Heart-picking: when the basin soil is implemented, insert a 1-meter-long thin bamboo pole in the center of the basin, and then use a lead wire about 3 meters long, and then wrap one end of the soil around the bamboo pole, and then spiral upward from the basin mouth to form a symmetrical tower-shaped spiral frame. The upper end of the wire is fixed at the top of the bamboo pole. Morning glory is a left-handed plant, the hovering direction of the lead wire must be in line with the habit of winding morning glory to the left. When the main vine climbs along the lead wire to the top of the pole, take off the top, and the side vine pinches when it grows to 6 to 7 leaves, which can make the flowers big and keep blooming.

3. Diseases and insect pests: morning glory is mainly prone to white rust, the main sites are leaves, petioles and tender stems, and the damaged leaves have light green spots on the leaves at the initial stage. In this case, the diseased plants can be pulled out and destroyed in time to reduce the infection of seeds. Leave disease-free seeds as propagation seeds and disinfect seeds before sowing to avoid rotation with plants of Convolvulaceae. Spraying 1% Bordeaux solution or 50% Phytophthora 500 times solution at the initial stage of the disease, spraying once every 10 to 15 days has a better control effect.
