Xiaoxue Cultivation Management

The cultivation and management of Xiaoxuesu is similar to that of Chunlan (called Duoxiang in Yunnan), but requires higher conditions. The suitable temperature for its growth is 18-25 ℃, the lowest temperature in winter is not less than 6 ℃, and the high temperature in summer is not more than 32 ℃. The temperature difference between day and night should be larger, preferably 8-10 ℃; avoid the air being too dry. It is more ventilated in summer, especially at night. Other daily management such as watering and fertilization is the same as that of Chunlan. In addition, Xiaoxue should have more humidity, enough water and less sunshine. In terms of planting materials, due to the different habits of different places, the selected materials are also different: in Guangdong, they like to use pond mud, that is, they take the bottom topsoil from fish ponds and break the seed orchid after drying; in Jiangqu area, they are accustomed to using vegetative soil, commonly known as "orchid mud". And we in Yunnan also mostly use humus soil to grow orchids. Some orchid friends use bricks, sawdust (sawdust), weathered rock and other plant materials, can also achieve success. There are also fairy lands and pond cornerstones sold on the market. They are all good materials for planting orchids. No matter what kind of plant materials are mixed and planted with small elements, they should contain humus, loose, good drainage and slightly acidic. We usually use rotten leaf soil plus fine-grained pond cornerstone at 2:1, plus some local red soil (where there is no red soil and non-polluting pastoral soil is also fine). Plant orchid use basin, because the root of small snow element is longer, it is better to use high waist basin, use broken charcoal or broken brick to cover the bottom, by the way, when planting, the root can contact the cushion layer directly, and then add the material to the basin surface, from our practice, there are few cases of orchid root rot, the root grows better, and some orchid roots grow directly into the cushion. Fertilizer is rarely used, because it is a vegetarian flower, only 1/1000 potassium dihydrogen phosphate is sprayed during the peak growing season, and the water is directly used on tap water with acid and vinegar for one day.
