Medium-broadleaf type, more flat, leaf posture sloping, machete-shaped, serrated teeth clear; larger flower type, red to green lotus-shaped daffodils, blooming for a long time, typical big apple tongue, colorful. Huifeng thatched cottage is known as "peace" (take the homophonic sound of apple and lotus, and have the heart to play with orchid, with peace of mind.

Water moss, also known as white moss, is a bryophyte, often growing in mountain forests near alpine cliffs or stream springs, white green or bright green or cotton, densely intertwined into pieces, stems creeping to the ground, irregularly branching or branching, stems and leaves nearly homomorphic. It is extremely loose and light white when it is dry, and the collected water moss can be used for planting after washing and removing impurity and drying. Using water moss to grow orchids, the planting method is very simple, as long as the dry water moss is fully infiltrated before use and can be used after slightly wringing it out.

It is not recommended to use water moss to moisturize in summer, it is easy to rot! It is difficult to plant orchids, and one of the difficulties is the selection of planting materials. In recent years, I choose water moss plant orchid, planted a lot of large and colorful flowers, luxuriant branches, developed roots, full charm of Chunlan, Xia Hui. From my orchid planting process and cultivation experience, water moss has three major functions:

The first is the role of environmental optimization. Water moss is clean, disease-free and sterile, it is a kind of natural orchid plant material, especially the processed water moss does not contain any bacteria, the orchid planted with it is very strong, but also can reduce the harm of diseases and insect pests.

The second is the effect of heat preservation and moisturizing. Water moss as orchid substrate or as surface cover of orchid basin can not only prevent soil from polluting leaves during watering, but also reduce water evaporation, maintain soil temperature constant, and play the role of heat preservation and moisturizing.

The third is the role of root protection and budding. The root of orchid is fleshy root, which requires that the substrate has good ventilation, air and water permeability, while the dried water moss is very loose, which is very suitable for the growth of orchid root system, so it can avoid the rotting root phenomenon caused by water accumulation in basin mud.

In addition, the plant material temperature of water moss is constant and its nutrition is rich in nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, calcium, magnesium, zinc, iron and other nutritious elements. after drying, the water moss slowly decays in the basin after wetting, and the nutrients also slowly supply the growth and development of orchid plants, which can not only save fertilizer application, but also promote orchid germination. The germination rate of orchids planted with water moss is higher than that of orchids planted with common plants.

From the situation of water moss planting orchid, water moss planting orchid also has the characteristics of economy and practicality. The dry water moss sold on the market is generally sold at about 20 yuan per kilogram. If you plant orchids in flowerpots of 20 and 25cm, at least 15 orchids can be planted with 1 kilograms of water moss. The cost of each pot of orchid water moss is only 1.3 yuan, which is significantly lower than that of other plants.
