The love vine is a succulent plant belonging to the chandelier of the Ailanthus family. Plastic hanging pots are commonly planted on the side of the door and in front of the window, and the stem vines float with the wind, which is very interesting. The potted plants are placed in indoor corners, high flower racks or on the top of bookcases, and their stems hang down. It can be up to 150 centimeters long and is very popular. Let's take a look at how the vines of love reproduce.

Cuttage propagation

Cuttage is the most commonly used propagation method of love vine. Generally, the stem segments with more than 2 stem nodes are cut from the plant as cuttings, the cuttings are placed in the ventilated place for about 10 minutes to be dried by exudate, and then the cuttings are cut in the prepared cultivation medium, then covered with plastic film to increase air humidity and speed up rooting, which can take root in 2 to 3 weeks under suitable temperature conditions, and change pots and transplants when the root system grows to 2 centimeters.

Zero seed reproduction

Yuzi propagation is similar to cutting propagation, except that cuttings have zero seeds. This method is easier to take root and has a higher survival rate than cutting propagation, but the production of surplus seeds requires a certain plant age and adequate nutrition, and there are fewer surplus seeds in family planting.

High pressure propagation

High-pressure propagation generally selects strong-growing branches, place them flat on the cultivation substrate, needle a small wound at the stem node, then fix the stem node in the matrix with a thin wire bent into a "u" shape, and cover it with a small amount of matrix. Maintain humidity, about 3 weeks can see the stem node hypertrophy and grow new roots, when the root system grows to 2 cm long, cut off the stem segment with roots and transplant.

Note: the vine of love can also sow and reproduce, but because it is not easy to obtain seeds in cultivation, this method is generally not used, and attention should also be paid to the breeding environment in culture. Love vine is fond of scattered light, avoid direct light, do not like fertilizer, especially avoid applying high phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, because its root has a huge tuber, which can store nutrients and water, so it is very resistant to drought.
