As the saying goes: a little flower, watering three years of work. From this we can see the great knowledge of watering, and its importance. Whether it is watered well or not is directly related to the growth of orchids. When to water them, what kind of water to pour, and how to water them are all great knowledge. A: How much water? Watering will vary according to the season, the state of the cultivation environment, the state of the plant, the state of the medium and other conditions. Summer weather is dry, water evaporation fast, should be more watering, conversely, winter should be less watering. Strong seedlings should be watered more, weak seedlings should be watered less, poor medium water absorption should be watered more, and vice versa should be watered less. 2: How to water. Watering time should be along the basin around the fine and slow from top to bottom watering, until the basin flows out of water, watering water pressure should not be too large, otherwise there will be the following hazards: 1: broken orchid leaves, affecting its beauty and photosynthesis. 2: The material of the basin surface will be quickly filled, and some fine particles will also sink along the gap of the large material, thus blocking the orchid basin, causing ponding and rotten roots in the basin. 3: Orchid plants will also often shake, which is extremely unfavorable to the development of orchid roots, especially those with bad roots will not grow new roots for a long time. 3: What kind of water to pour. Orchids prefer slightly acidic water with a pH between 5.5 and 6.5. Most of our orchid friends use tap water, because the water quality in different places is different, the PH value in the water is also different, if direct irrigation will have a certain impact on orchids. Especially in some towns where orchids are raised on the balcony, it is recommended to treat the water in advance or put the water in a large tank or bucket the day before watering to let the chlorine in the water volatilize naturally before watering, so that the growth of orchids will be beneficial. 4: When to water. In the process of raising orchids, watering time is also worthy of our attention. In summer, it should be watered in the evening or early morning before the sun comes out. If it is poured at noon in midsummer, it is very likely that the water droplets on the orchid leaves will burn the orchid leaves due to the lens effect, or the water absorbed into the material will hurt the root tips like boiling water, affecting the growth. On the contrary, winter should be poured at noon, if poured in the morning and evening is easy to occur due to low temperature frostbite, damage to the roots, these will not be conducive to the normal growth of orchids.
