Lover's tears is a very common succulent plant, also known as pearl hanging orchid, emerald pearl, green bell, Mayan pearl, etc., named for the bulging, full green oval leaves shaped like pearls, and belongs to the genus Compositae. The flowering period is generally from December of that year to January of the following year. Let's take a look at the cultivation method of lover's tears.

The growth habit of lover's tears

Lovers like loose and fertile soil rich in organic matter. It grows best in the environment of warmth, high humidity and strong scattered light. High temperature and humidity should be avoided in summer, otherwise it is easy to rot and die, and potted flowers can be cultivated in rain-proof shade. After autumn, the growth of the plant should be restored, the light should be increased and liquid fertilizer should be applied.

The reproduction method of lover's tears

1, cuttage: lover's tear branch vine is very easy to take root, can cut off a few sections in spring and autumn, 3cm long branches, half buried in sand or loose soil, keep moist but not stagnant water, will soon take root for planting (about half a month in spring and autumn, but it is not easy to take root in winter and summer, when the pot plant is not uniform and plump but grows too long, this measure can be used to make up for it), and grow very quickly.

2. Striping: the branches are buried shallowly, and then the surface is covered with a layer of soil. After watering immediately, there will be many new buds coming out of the soil before long. This method is very suitable for the situation where there are not too many branches. At first, it is very slow, and once the small buds grow out, they grow very quickly.

The culture method of lover's tears

1. Soil: the root system of lover's tears plant is very shallow and can be planted in shallow pot. Generally, tiles are used to cover the bottom hole, and a layer of cinder or coarse sand is laid to increase air permeability and filtration (especially when commonly used plastic pots are planted). The soil had better use rotten leaf soil (the fallen leaves of autumn and winter trees are mixed with a certain amount of crushed soil. Mix in a certain amount of sand (the ratio of soil to sand is about 1:3).

2, watering: lover's tears are easy to rot in summer, watering should not be too frequent, need to be watered with a small sprinkler can.

3. Temperature: lover's tears like warm and humid, cold-tolerant (low temperature of 0 ℃ when cultivated in Jianghuai region), high temperature, and the optimum temperature is about 20-28 ℃. It grows slowly at high temperature and low temperature, and almost dormant in high temperature environment.

4. Fertilization: lover's tears should be applied "thin fertilizer frequently" in spring and autumn. Spraying 1 ~ 3 ‰ nitrogen fertilizer and potassium dihydrogen phosphate on the leaf surface is beneficial to make it more green and fat and improve the ornamental value.

5, disease: lover's tears rarely have diseases and insect pests, aphids are one of them in spring, timely erase or spray 1500 times omethoate to kill mites in summer and autumn, need to be killed with 1000 times triclofenac. Pay attention to ventilation and increase leaf humidity, can reduce the infection of mites.
