Qiuli is a succulent plant of windmill in Sedum family, which may be derived from the cross between obscure moon and B female heart. Although its name is similar to Ji Qiuli, it has no relationship. Often confused with Ji Qiuli or mistakenly classified as an intergeneric hybrid, and sometimes mistakenly regarded as a hybrid of Jihaoyue, let's take a look at Qiuli's breeding methods.

The growth habits of Qiuli

Qiuli likes the environment with adequate light and ventilation, which needs all-day sunshine. Except for the need to control watering at high temperature in summer, the growing season can be watered normally. It is generally appropriate to wait for the basin soil to dry before watering. Weak antibacterial ability, easy to infect the virus, should pay attention to the matrix disinfection, especially not suitable for a long time in the wet, stagnant water state, otherwise it is easy to lead to rotting roots. It can be cultivated with special soil for succulent flowers sold in the market and is generally sterilized. Easy Qunsheng, in the environment of large temperature difference and sufficient sunshine, the plant type is compact, and the leaves are full, showing a combination of pink, purple, red, orange, yellow and other colors, which is very wonderful.

The breeding method of Qiuli

Qiuli is a very easy variety to breed, which can be propagated by cutting the top to produce tillering buds, leaf insertion and other methods, and the success rate of reproduction is very high. Can be in spring and autumn (north of the Yangtze River can also be carried out in winter) to take healthy, mature and complete leaves for cutting, slightly tilted or flat leaves on vermiculite, peat or coconut bran, maintain a little moisture, will soon take root at the base, and grow new buds, when the new buds grow slightly larger, another plant will become a new plant. In addition, the young plants germinating next to the old plants can also be used for cutting. before cutting, the cut should be dried, and then the lower stem should be shallowly buried in the sandy soil, and other matters needing attention should be cut with the same leaves. The cutting medium needs to use loose sandy soil so that the root system of the plant can grow well.

The breeding method of Qiuli

1. Illumination: the more sufficient the light is, the greater the temperature difference between day and night is, the brighter and moist the leaf color is. When the temperature permits, it is best to put it outside for maintenance to ensure sufficient light. When the light is insufficient or the soil moisture is too much, the color of the whole plant is dim and green, the leaf sparse spacing lengthens, accelerates the upward growth, seriously affects the ornamental ability, and may even die because of the hindrance of plant photosynthesis.

2. Moisture: because of the high water content in the plant, Qiuli is easy to rot in the excessive humid environment. Don't water too much. In order to avoid water deposition in the roots, it is best to choose pots with drainage holes at the bottom, red pottery pots with good air permeability can be used for beginners (but may affect the fullness of leaves), and glass containers with heat absorption and poor air permeability should be used with caution. Usually about once every 10 days, each time can be thoroughly watered, according to the climate differences of different regions and seasons, the watering frequency can be increased or decreased as appropriate.

3. Soil: it is suitable to be cultivated in neutral sandy soil with good drainage and permeability, so as to facilitate the removal of excess water and the growth of plant roots. It can be prepared with pine needle soil, vermiculite, rotten leaf soil and sandy soil. Cinder and sifted red jade soil, deer marsh soil, volcanic stone and other particles can also be added. If the basin is changed every 1 ~ 2 years in spring, the necrotic old root can be cut off. The soil nitrogen content should not be too high.

4. Temperature: in general, stop growing or slightly frostbite when the temperature is below 5 degrees Celsius, and the water frozen cells in the leaves below 0 degrees Celsius are necrotic. When the temperature is too high (more than 35 degrees Celsius) or too low (less than five degrees Celsius) in winter and summer, the plant growth should be temporarily reduced or stopped, and the watering frequency should be restored when the temperature is suitable. Pay attention to ventilation during high temperatures in summer to prevent prolonged exposure to the sun to avoid sunburn.

5, pruning: usually need to remove the dry old leaves in time, so as not to accumulate and lead to bacterial growth. When the plant grows excessively or grows too high, it can be molded by pruning the top branches and leaves and controlling the plant height to maintain the beauty of the plant type. The top part of the cut can be inserted into the sandy soil after drying the wound to take root and become a new plant. The stems and leaves at the bottom can sprout more lateral buds.
