Xi Zhi Pagoda is a perennial succulent herb belonging to the genus crassulaceae, with peculiar plant shape and neat arrangement of leaves, similar to layers of exquisite pagodas, with high ornamental value. It is suitable to use small craft potted plants to adorn sunny windowsills, balconies and other places to add a touch of fun to the living room. Let's take a look at how Xi Zhi Pagoda is cultivated.

The growth habit of Xizhi Tower

The dwarf plants of Xizhita are clumpy, with thick green leaves. In the cool season of winter and early spring or under sunny conditions, the leaves are reddish brown or brown, with a white cuticular layer on the edge, and the leaves of the whole plant are arranged tightly and neatly, gradually decreasing from the base up to form a pagoda. Should be sunny and warm, dry environment, not cold, avoid wet water, high temperature and muggy and too shady, resistant to drought and semi-shade.

The breeding method of Xizhita

1. Ramet: the reproduction of Xizhita can be combined with changing pots in spring. The method is to separate the plants with dense growth, about 3-4 branches per clump, and plant them directly on the basin soil.

2. Sowing: sowing seeds in Xizhita should be sowed from April to May, and the optimum temperature is about 20 ℃. The seeds collected and preserved in advance will germinate after two weeks, and the seedlings will grow very fast.

3. Cuttage: during the growing period of the plant, cut off the sturdy and plump top branches and cut them into the sandy soil. The cuttings are required to grow 3-5 cm long and retain at least 4 pairs of leaves. The appropriate temperature is 18-24 ℃, and the air keeps a slight tide. It will take root in about 2-3 weeks.

How to raise Xi Zhi Pagoda?

1. Soil: Xizhita likes soft and fertile land, and puts forward higher requirements for the drainage performance of the soil. Therefore, the choice of garden soil, coarse sand, vermiculite and other soil quality is a better choice, we can mix the above three kinds of soil with rotten leaves, and then add some cow dung and bone meal to become the most ideal planting medium for Xi Zhita.

2. Temperature: Xi Zhita likes warmth, is afraid of high temperature and muggy heat, and needs to receive enough sunlight to maintain the gloss of the leaf color. In winter, it should be placed in a place with enough light indoors, the temperature is not lower than 10 ℃, it can continue to grow, and it can withstand the low temperature of 5 ℃ in the dormant period.

3. Fertilization: Xizhita usually applies fertilizer to Xizhita once a month, which generally includes mature thin liquid fertilizer or compound fertilizer with low nitrogen, high phosphorus and potassium. In order to prevent the tower from growing too fast, resulting in loose appearance, fertilization should not be too frequent. If the plant grows faster and the flowerpot restricts its growth, the pot can be changed in spring.

4. Watering: the watering of Xi Zhi Tower should follow the principle of "dry and thoroughly watered", especially in its growing period. "dry thoroughly watering" refers to watering until the soil becomes dry, and the water should be watered thoroughly. In addition to the stagnation period, the frequency of watering should be reduced, especially in the hot summer, which can be watered twice a month.
