Plain sailing, also known as white crane taro, bract taro, etc., is a perennial herb of Araceae. It is arranged in the hotel lobby, the front of the field, the station entrance and the window of the commercial building with potted white crane taro, showing elegance and beauty. In the south, it is equipped with small gardens, poolside and corners, unique, and its flowers are also excellent flower baskets and flower arrangement decoration materials. Let's take a look at how the potted plants are raised smoothly.

Plain sailing growth habits

Smooth sailing prefers high temperature, humid and semi-overcast environment. The optimum temperature for growth is 22: 28 ℃, 24: 30 ℃ from March to September, and 18: 21 ℃ from September to March of the following year. The winter temperature is not lower than 14 ℃, and the plant growth is blocked when the temperature is below 10 ℃, and the leaves are vulnerable to freezing injury. White crane taro is sensitive to humidity. When it is hot in summer and dry in autumn, it is necessary to spray more water to ensure that the air humidity is above 50%, which is beneficial to the growth of leaves. When dried at high temperature, the leaves are easy to curl, the leaves become smaller, wither and fall off, and the florescence is shortened. Fear of strong light exposure, summer shade 60% 70%, but long-term lack of light, it is not easy to blossom, 500 lux is appropriate. The best soil is fertile loam with rich humus.

A smooth method of reproduction

1, ramet: smooth sailing will not sprout before absolute maturity, so it will often artificially destroy the growing point, each plant can get 3-5 buds, when the new bud grows to about 15 cm, cut it, and then insert it in the coarse sand, waiting for it to take root, what you need to pay attention here is to have the stem when cutting, and then apply charcoal ash to the wound to prevent decay.

2. Sowing: smooth sowing is a method often used in the breeding base, but it has a difficulty, that is, artificial pollination is needed, and many people have problems here, so it needs to be specially stated: the white flake is not the flower, the protuberance in the middle is the flower, so the flower is relatively small, when the flower has pollen, use a clean brush to smear on the flower to complete the pollination work.

3. Tissue culture: smooth sailing tissue culture has many advantages, but so far the tissue culture method has not been widely used in China, but it will be used in the experiment. Generally, the tissue culture method is first planted in a plastic pot. Wait until he grows to 4 leaves and then split, then transplant after 3 or 4 times, and then plant according to the routine when the seedling height is 30 cm.

How to raise the potted plant without any trouble?

1. Soil: plain sailing pot planting requires loose soil, good drainage and ventilation, do not use clayey soil, it is better to use fertile and humus-rich loam, generally can be mixed with rotten leaf soil, peat soil and a small amount of perlite as the matrix, add a small amount of organic fertilizer as base fertilizer.

2. Lighting: plain sailing is more shady, so it is suitable to grow in a semi-shady environment. Avoid direct sunlight. About 60% of the scattered light can meet the needs of smooth sailing growth, so it can be cultured indoors with bright scattered light all the year round. If it is exposed to strong light, it will cause the leaves to turn yellow and even directly sunburn.

3, temperature: plain sailing likes high temperature, especially afraid of cold, the most suitable growth temperature is 20: 28 ℃, once it is put indoors in winter, the lowest temperature it can withstand is 10 degrees, so it should be paid attention to in winter, so relatively speaking, the farming conditions in the north are too poor, put in low temperature for a long time, it will cause root rot, leaf shedding or scorched yellow, serious even lead to death.

4. Watering: smooth sailing has a high demand for water, so we must always maintain the wettability of the basin soil, but we must avoid watering too much. Once too much water is watered, a large amount of water accumulates in the basin, it is easy to cause rotten roots and plants withered and yellow. In addition, it should be noted that in summer and drought, we should often spray water to the leaves and the ground, in order to improve the air humidity, so as to be conducive to its growth.

5, fertilization: plain sailing fertilization do not apply thick fertilizer or raw fertilizer, and after the application of solid fertilizer water, it is best to use thin fertilizer instead of clear water irrigation, so that generally will not produce fertilizer damage, and taro will grow very luxuriantly.

6. Diseases and pests: plain sailing is the most popular during the growth period, so special mites should be sprayed regularly, such as triclofenac, Nisolan, pyridaben and so on. Common bacterial leaf spot, brown spot and anthracnose damage leaves can be sprayed with 50% carbendazim wettable powder 500 times.

7. Changing pots: smooth sailing and strong tillering ability, changing pots every 1-2 years, pay attention to root pruning and withered leaves when changing pots, overdense plants are planted in pots, part of old roots and overgrown roots are removed, old soil is removed and newly cultivated soil is replaced to facilitate the flowering of taro.
