How to plant the latest lily seeds?
Lily, also known as Qiangqi, pan leek, Shandan, etc., is a perennial herbaceous bulb plant of Liliaceae. At least 120 varieties have been found in the world, 55 of which are produced in China. In recent years, there are many new varieties produced by artificial hybridization. Bulbs are rich in starch, edible and used as medicine. Let's take a look at how to plant lily seeds.
How to plant lily seeds?
Lily can reproduce asexually or sexually. The seeds can be sowed immediately after harvest or resowed in the spring of the next year, and germinate about 20-30 days after sowing. Sunshade should be carried out in the seedling stage, and the management of water and fertilizer should be strengthened. in autumn, small bulbs can be dug out and planted separately. Due to different species, some seedlings bloom for 3 years, while others need to be cultivated for many years before they can blossom, so it is not suitable to use seed propagation in family cultivation.
How to reproduce lilies?
1. Scale propagation: in autumn, strong, disease-free and hypertrophic scales were soaked in 1 ∶ 500 carbendazim solution for 30 minutes, then dried in the shade, and the scales were inserted into the seedbed with fertile sandy loam at the base downwards. About 20 days later, two small bulbs were formed at the lower end of the scales.
2. Bulb propagation: many new bulbs can grow on the axis of the old bulb of lilies. The bulbs on the disease-free plants are collected and sown according to the row spacing of 25 × 6 cm after disinfection. After one year's cultivation, some of them can reach the seed ball standard (50g), and the younger ones will continue to be cultivated for one year and then be used as seeds.
3. Bulblet propagation: Lily bulbs are harvested after maturity in summer, mixed with wet yarn and stored in a cool and ventilated place. From September to October of that year, beads were sown on the seedbed with a row spacing of 12 cm and a depth of 3 cm, covered with 3 cm fine soil and covered with grass.
How to cultivate lilies?
1. Planting: Lily pot planting should be carried out in September and October, and the cultivated soil should be mixed with rotten leaf soil, sandy soil and garden soil at 1:1:1, and fully mature compost and a small amount of bone powder and plant ash should be used as base fertilizer at the bottom of the pot. the planting depth is generally 2 to 3 times the diameter of the bulb.
2, sunshine: lilies like light, if the lack of long-term sun shade will affect the normal flowering, in addition, the growing period will also turn the flowerpot once a week, otherwise the plant is easy to be too long, affecting beauty.
3. Temperature: the temperature of lily growth and flowering is 1624 ℃, and the growth almost stops when the temperature is below 5 ℃ or above 30 ℃. If the night temperature in winter is lower than 5 ℃, the flower bud differentiation and bud development will be seriously affected, and the flowering will be delayed or even blind and split.
4. Watering: lilies are afraid of wetness. Watering only needs to keep the pot soil moist, but it should be watered properly during peak growing season and dry weather, and water is often sprinkled around the flowerpot to improve air humidity. The potted soil should not be too wet, otherwise the bulbs will rot easily.
5. Fertilization: lilies need more nitrogen and potassium fertilizer, and should be applied every 10 to 15 days during the growing period, while the supply of phosphate fertilizer should be limited, because too much phosphate fertilizer will lead to withered leaves and increase the application of phosphate fertilizer for 1 to 2 days during flowering.
6. Insect pests: the common diseases of lilies are mosaic disease, bulb rot, spot disease, leaf blight and so on. When the spot disease occurs, the diseased leaves can be removed and sprayed with 65% zinc wettable powder 500 times diluent to prevent spread.
7. Change the pot: the potted flowers of lilies should be changed once a year and replaced with new culture soil and base fertilizer. In order to enrich the bulb, the residual flowers should be cut off in time after flowering, so as to reduce nutrient consumption and affect the blooming of other flowers.
