Clover, also known as lucky grass, clover, clover, etc., is a perennial herb of Leguminosae. It is cultivated all over the world and is semi-authigenic on moist grasslands, riverbanks and roadsides. As the countries that breed the most forage varieties are Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Denmark and the Netherlands, let's take a look at the seed prices and planting methods of clover.

How much is the clover seed per jin?

The price of clover seed is about 2030 yuan per jin, but the price varies greatly due to the quality, variety and origin of the seed. Clover likes humid and warm climate, is more resistant to drought and cold, and is suitable for the growth of clayey soil with good drainage and rich calcium. The growth cycle is generally 2-6 years, and it is often shortened to biennial or annual under warm conditions. The seedling stage is managed for about 30-50 days after sowing.

How to sow clover seeds?

1. Sowing time: the best sowing time of clover seeds is in spring and autumn, and the optimum growth temperature is 19: 24 ℃. Spring sowing can be from the end of March to the end of April, and the temperature is above 15 ℃. Autumn sowing usually starts from the middle to late September.

2. Seed treatment: the seeds should be soaked before sowing, adding 1.5 kg of water per 1 kg of seeds, adding 1 g of ammonium molybdate for 12 hours, adding 5 kg of calcium magnesium phosphate fertilizer and 5 kg of fine soil or 5 kg of yellow sand before sowing.

3. Sowing methods: there are various sowing methods of clover, either single sowing or mixed sowing, strip sowing or sowing, artificial grassland sowing 0.4-0.5 kg per mu, wet sowing depth 1-2 cm, note that seedlings are not easy to emerge if sown too deep.

How to plant and manage clover?

1. Ploughing and loosening soil: before emergence of clover after sowing, if you encounter soil hardening, rake in time, break the stratified layer, in order to facilitate seedling emergence, lack of seedlings can be replanted in autumn to restore grassland productivity.

2. Weeding in time: clover grows slowly at seedling stage and is vulnerable to weeds. In seedling stage, clover should be ploughed and loosened to weed twice, and large weeds should be removed in time within 2-3 years after the formation of grass cover.

3. Water and fertilizer management: before turning green in spring and autumn and before regeneration after grazing and cutting, clover should be combined with loose soil topdressing fertilizer, 20-25 kg calcium superphosphate per mu should be applied, and those with irrigation conditions should be irrigated under soil drought or combined with topdressing.

4. pest control: there are few diseases of clover, but sometimes brown spot and powdery mildew can be cut and used first, and then Bordeaux solution, stone-sulfur mixture or carbendazim are used to control them.

5. Cutting and utilization: clover is sown in September, blossoms in April the following year, and blossoms in the middle of May. The height of grass layer in flowering period is 15cm to 20cm. After cutting, the second stubble grass layer can quickly form to cover the grassland.
