Lavender, also known as spirit vanilla, vanilla, yellow vanilla, etc., is a semi-shrub or dwarf shrub of the genus Lavender of Labiatae, native to the Mediterranean coast, Europe and the islands of Oceania, and then widely planted in the United Kingdom and Yugoslavia. The leaf shape is beautiful and elegant, the blue-purple inflorescence is long and beautiful, it is suitable for flower path planting or strip planting, and it can also be potted. Let's take a look at the seed price and planting method of lavender.

How much is lavender seed per jin?

The price of lavender seeds is about 500,800 yuan per jin, but the price varies according to the quality, variety, origin and market of the seeds. Lavender can use seed propagation and cutting propagation, sowing and seedling propagation is fast, root system is developed, seedlings are strong, but the variation is large and the seed price is high. Cutting propagation can maintain the good quality of the female parent, strong adaptability, can be carried out in spring and autumn, and the management is more convenient, the whole seedling stage does not need to apply fertilizer, so it is widely used in production.

Sowing method of lavender

1, time: lavender try not to sow seeds out of season, because lavender is not heat-resistant, the best sowing season is spring, of course, autumn sowing is also possible, and the best seed germination temperature is 15: 20 ℃.

2. Containers: lavender seeds can be sown in small flowerpots or other containers, such as yogurt boxes, disposable plastic cups, etc.

3. Soil: the soil used for lavender sowing needs to be loose, breathable, high water holding capacity and fully sterilized. Vermiculite, peat, water moss, perlite, serpent sawdust and other mixed soil can be used.

4. Seed soaking: the seeds of lavender should be dried before sowing, soaked in 30 ℃ warm water for 12 hours, soaked in concentrated sulfuric acid for 5 minutes, and finally washed and dried with water before sowing.

5. Sowing: when lavender is sown in April, 2-3 seeds can be sowed in each container, and a strong one will be left after sprouting depending on the growth of the seedlings. The lowest temperature of seed germination is 8: 12 ℃ and the optimum temperature is 20: 25 ℃.

6. Watering: soak the flowerpot in water after sowing lavender seeds (the water level reaches the waist of the flowerpot), let the flowerpot absorb water from the bottom, and the soaking pot can be taken out in a few minutes.

7. Management: lavender seeds had better be placed in a cool place before germination. Generally, lavender seeds can germinate in about 5-10 days. After germination, lavender can be moved to a bright place for maintenance.

Planting method of lavender

1. Soil: lavender is suitable for slightly alkaline or neutral sandy soil. It can be mixed with perlite, vermiculite and peat moss. If cultivated in the open field, pay attention to the drainage of the soil, the soil can be piled high into a bed before planting.

2. Watering: lavender does not like the retention of water in the roots, so it should be watered again when the soil is dry. Water in the morning, avoid the sun, do not splash water on leaves and flowers, otherwise it is perishable and breeds diseases and insect pests.

3. Lighting: lavender needs adequate sunlight and a humid environment. In summer, lavender should cover at least 50% of the sun and increase ventilation to lower the ambient temperature. Lavender can grow well on flat land in winter and should be cultivated under full-day sunshine.

4, temperature: lavender is semi-heat-resistant, cool, warm in winter and cool in summer, the suitable temperature for growth is 15: 25 ℃, can grow at 5: 30 ℃, the top stems and leaves are withered and yellow higher than 38: 40 ℃ for a long time, and dormancy begins when the northern winter is below 0 ℃ for a long time.

5, fertilization: lavender fertilization can put bone powder in the basin soil as base fertilizer (once every three months), seedlings can apply Huabao 2, and then apply fertilizer with higher phosphate fertilizer such as Huabao 3 after growing up.

6. Diseases and pests: lavender has few insect pests, and the disease is mainly root rot, which has the highest incidence in high temperature and stagnant water environment. It can be irrigated with 800 times solution of carbendazim and chlorothalonil once a month, especially from June to October. Keep the air dry.

7. Plastic surgery: after flowering, lavender is cut off at the first node under the flower, and by the way, the plant is trimmed into a hemispherical shape, and the withered branches are usually cut off at any time. In order to control the plant height or get a better plant type, appropriate re-cutting in late summer and early autumn to promote new branches.
