The crushing capacity of soybean in China reached 145 million tons by the end of 2014.

A survey was conducted on 100 soybean processing enterprises with a daily processing capacity of more than 1000 tons in more than 20 provinces and cities throughout the country from November 2014 to January 2015. the crushing capacity is summarized as follows:

The survey shows that by the end of 2014, there are 159 enterprises in China with a daily soybean crushing capacity of more than 1000 tons (including those that can process both soybeans and rapeseed), with a total daily soybean crushing capacity of 438300 tons. according to the annual 10-month and 11-month operating rates, the annual soybean processing capacity reached 131.5 million tons and 144.6 million tons respectively.

Shandong has the largest number of soybean crushing enterprises and the largest crushing capacity in the country. by the end of 2014, there were 28 enterprises with a daily soybean crushing capacity of more than 1000 tons (including soybean protein factories), with a total daily soybean crushing capacity of 89700 tons. according to the annual 10-month and 11-month operating rates, the annual processing capacity of soybeans is 26.91 million tons and 29.6 million tons respectively.

The survey shows that there are 6 provinces with more than 10 soybean crushing enterprises in China, and the provinces ranking second to sixth are: 20 in Heilongjiang Province, 16 in Jiangsu Province, 15 in Guangdong Province, 11 in Fujian Province and 10 in Liaoning Province.

There are a total of 9 provinces (cities and autonomous regions) with a daily soybean crushing capacity of more than 20, 000 tons in China. The provinces (cities and autonomous regions) ranking second to ninth are: Jiangsu Province 54000 tons, Guangdong Province 52000 tons, Guangxi Autonomous region 38100 tons, Liaoning Province 31500 tons, Fujian Province 26700 tons, Heilongjiang Province 26200 tons, Hebei Province 24400 tons, Tianjin 21000 tons.

Among the 159 soybean crushing enterprises in China, 72 have a daily crushing capacity of 1000 tons but less than 2000 tons, accounting for 45.3% of the total number of crushing enterprises. 65 enterprises have a daily crushing capacity of 2000 tons but less than 5000 tons, accounting for 40.9% of the total. There are 22 enterprises with a daily crushing capacity of more than 5000 tons of soybeans, accounting for 13.8 percent of the total number of crushing enterprises, of which 6 have a daily crushing capacity of more than 10,000 tons.

The average daily soybean crushing capacity of the country's 159 soybean crushing enterprises is 2757 tons. Among them, there are seven provinces (cities and autonomous regions) with an average daily soybean crushing capacity of more than 3000 tons, and the average daily soybean crushing capacity of enterprises in Guangxi Autonomous region ranks first with an average daily soybean crushing capacity of 5443 tons. the provinces (cities and autonomous regions) with the average daily soybean crushing capacity ranking 2-7 are: Hebei Province 4880 tons, Tianjin 4200 tons, Guangdong Province 3467 tons, Jiangsu Province 3375 tons, Shandong Province 3204 tons, Liaoning 3150 tons.

Among the 159 soybean crushing enterprises in the country, there are 85 private and joint-stock enterprises, accounting for 53.46 percent of the total number of enterprises; the total daily soybean crushing capacity is 205400 tons, accounting for 46.86 percent of the national crushing capacity. There are 43 state-owned and state-controlled enterprises, accounting for 27.04% of the total number of enterprises. The total daily soybean crushing capacity is 124800 tons, accounting for 28.47% of the national crushing capacity. There are 31 foreign-funded and foreign-controlled enterprises, accounting for 19.5% of the total number of enterprises; the total daily soybean crushing capacity is 108100 tons, accounting for 24.67% of the total soybean crushing capacity.

By the end of 2014, there were 71 soybean crushing enterprises in the top 10 soybean crushing enterprise groups in China, accounting for 44.65% of the total number of soybean crushing enterprises in the country. The total daily soybean crushing capacity of the top 10 soybean crushing enterprises (groups) in the country is 261400 tons, accounting for 59.64% of the national soybean crushing capacity. Among the top 10 soybean crushing enterprise groups in China, there are three foreign-funded enterprises, namely Yihai Kerry, Cargill and Bangji, and five state-owned enterprise groups. they are: Cofco (including Noble), Jiusan Oil Group, China Textile Group and China Storage Grain and Oil Company, and three private enterprise groups, namely: Shandong Bohai Group, Guangdong Dongling Grain and Oil Group and Hebei Huifu Grain and Oil Group.

At least seven new soybean crushing projects were completed and put into production in 2015, namely: Jiangsu Yangzhou Zhonghai Grain and Oil Phase I (2000 tons / day), Guangxi Qinzhou Gangqing Company (3000 tons / day), Sichuan China Textile (2000 tons / day), Sichuan Beibuwan Group (3000 tons / day), Sichuan Chengdu Oil Storage Company (1500 tons / day), Hebei Huanghua Port Cargill Company (5000 tons / day). Jiangsu Zhenjiang Oil Storage Phase II Project (5000 tons / day). The total daily crushing capacity of the seven projects is 21500 tons.
