The orchids in Wuyi Mountain, once known as "wind flowers" in ancient times, are rich in resources and are known to have more than a hundred varieties. According to the flowering period, Wuyi orchids are usually divided into Chunlan, Xialan, Qiulan and Hanlan. Many of them are orchid treasures unique to our country. "Lvyun" is a famous species of orchids. Its petals are clam-shaped, with 3 purplish red stripes at the base, light yellow lips, orange-red markings on the lips, green bracts, dark blue leaves, rich luster, usually one stem and two flowers, which is very precious. Spring sword element leaves are harder than ordinary spring orchids, with erect flower stems and more flowers. Light white green, translucent, is the top grade of spring orchids. There are also rare and valuable varieties of Jianlan, such as Yinbian Dagong, Magnolia and Golden Horsetail Orchid.

In order to adapt to insect pollination, Wuyi orchid flowers usually have to make a 180 °twist, and like some kind of worm, some like bees, some like colorful butterflies, some like cicadas, and some like flying swallows, with different shapes and changes, which can activate people's associations and are interesting. Most of the colors are light and elegant, but some are mixed with spots on the petals, and even the same color has different shades.

The fragrance of Wuyi orchid is strong, mellow, distant and long-lasting, which can be described as outstanding and refined. The forest garden has orchid, Qingfen lingers, the bedroom has orchid, fragrance is full of. The ancients had many praising poems, such as "incense gives birth to incense all over the road" and "Qingfen times Youyuan". Admire the orchid incense and respect it as "the first incense in the world". When visitors were boating in the zigzag stream, a fragrance of orchid curled up and suddenly felt relaxed and happy. When Mr. Guo Moruo visited Wuyi in the 1960s, he praised: "you Orchid Valley Xiangsheng path, Fangzhu Mountain Green River."

The leaves of Wuyi Orchid are handsome, firm and soft, fresh and graceful all the year round. The ancients praised it with poems such as "Zelan luxuriant fragrance every spring", "colorful leaves", "the breeze shakes the green ring, and the cool dew drops of Beryl" and even said, "look at the leaves and look at the flowers."

Wuyi Orchid has won people's love for its lofty and strong character, outstanding and unrestrained grace, erratic fragrance and beautiful elegance. The ancient book Pearl Boat praises: "Bamboo has knots and Sik flowers, plums have flowers but stingy leaves, pines have leaves and sik incense, only orchids have them." People in Wuyi Mountain have always loved orchids and always put several pots of orchids inside and outside their homes. In addition to ornamental places, orchids can also be used medicinally, and leaves, flowers and roots can be used as medicine. There are also local legends that planting orchids can avoid the plague.
