Cymbidium is grown in many families. It is an artificially improved plant. It is named Cymbidium because it blossoms a lot in orchids. So how to raise Cymbidium? Come and have a look with the editor.

I. Culture methods

1. Prepare soil

Soil is the basic element of Cymbidium cultivation. Cymbidium belongs to epiphytic plants, and there are special requirements for soil material selection. Generally, it is necessary to choose the cultivation substrate with larger particles, such as coconut shavings, broken bricks, water moss and so on. Before cultivation, add appropriate amount of base fertilizer, and then pour in appropriate water.

2. Plenty of light

Compared with traditional orchid plants, Cymbidium has higher requirements for light, and lack of light will weaken its resistance, which will affect the growth and development of Cymbidium. Proper shading is needed in spring, it should be raised in half-yin and half-sun environment in summer, and more light should be seen in autumn and winter, which is beneficial to its growth and development.

3. Rational watering

The soil of Cymbidium should be dry and should not be irrigated too much water. Generally, it is better to water once every 3-5 days in winter, the temperature rises in spring, and the watering times should increase gradually. In summer, watering should be done once a day, and each watering should be appropriate, so as not to cause soil stagnant water. After summer, the watering times should be reduced appropriately.

4. Regular fertilization

The soil rich in humus is mostly used in cultivation, so special attention should be paid to the fertilization of Cymbidium in the later stage, the fertilizer with more nitrogen should be selected from March to September, and the fertilizer with more phosphorus and potassium fertilizer should be selected after October.

II. Points for attention

Cymbidium usually breeds separately, so there is no need for special pruning, and occasionally weeds or withered branches of weeds can be trimmed, which will make it more beautiful and can trim off the ends of its leaves, because the ends are very easy to yellowing and withering. The pests of Cymbidium are generally slugs and leaf mites, and when they are serious, the leaves will turn yellow and gradually erode, so they can be sprayed from the back of the flowers and leaves with nematodes or triclosan mites.

The above is the introduction of the breeding methods and matters needing attention of Cymbidium. I hope it can help you. If you want to know more about it, please follow us.
