Sweet-scented osmanthus is a common tree species, but it is one of the top ten traditional famous flowers in China, usually with green branches and leaves, fragrant and overflowing, potted planting has a very high ornamental value, but also commonly used in landscaping. But if we want to grow potted plants, we need to prepare potted soil for them first.

Sweet-scented osmanthus is not very strict on the soil, even if it is an ordinary substrate, it can often survive. In the pot culture environment, we should try our best to prepare higher quality basin soil for it. Because it likes the sandy basin soil environment rich in humus, which is deep, fertile and loose, permeable and permeable, so we must prepare it according to this standard when we mix soil for it.

Usually, when preparing soil for sweet-scented osmanthus potted plants, we can use humus soil or peat soil, garden soil and sandy soil to prepare mixed culture soil according to the appropriate proportion. Generally, it is more reasonable to mix the three substrates well according to the proportion of 5:3:2. The basin soil prepared in this way is not only fertile and loose, but also highly permeable and permeable, which is not only convenient for the infiltration of water and fertilizer in the later stage, but also less prone to hardening, so it is very helpful to promote the growth of sweet-scented osmanthus in the pot culture environment.

Of course, after preparing the basin soil, we also need to adjust the ph value of the soil properly. Because sweet-scented osmanthus likes acidic soil, but it is not suitable to grow in high acidity or alkaline soil, it is generally appropriate for us to control its basin soil ph between 5.5 and 6.5. However, before using such basin soil to install the basin, it is recommended to disinfect it with 0.1% potassium permanganate solution, so that it is safer to use.

The quality and quality of potted soil is a very important factor that affects or even restricts the growth of potted flowers and plants, and even determines whether they can survive. Although sweet-scented osmanthus does not have a high demand for soil quality, it does not like the soil environment which is too barren, shallow and easy to consolidate, otherwise the plant growth is very slow, thin, the ornamental value is not high, and even is not conducive to flowering. If it is light, it may cause poor growth, and if it is serious, it may cause death, so we must take the problem of soil allocation for it seriously.
