Last Updated: 2024/09/16, China's rice area reaches 30.37 million hectares according to the estimate of the National Bureau of Statistics, the rice sown area in China increased by 0.2% over the previous year to 30.37 million hectares in 2015. Among them, the sown area of early rice this year is the same as last year, about 5.8 million hectares, if according to the trend of the last few years

China's rice acreage reaches 30.37 million hectares According to estimates by the National Bureau of Statistics, China's rice acreage will increase by 0.2% over the previous year to 30.37 million hectares in 2015. Among them, the planting area of early rice this year is the same as that of the previous year, about 5.8 million hectares. If calculated according to the trend yield of previous years, the output of early rice in 2015 may reach about 34.5 million tons. Statistics show that from May last year to now, the total amount of mature-cross of three kinds of rice is 6.79 million tons, of which 810,000 tons are for early rice, 3.32 million tons for mid-late rice and 2.66 million tons for japonica rice. Before the new grain is listed, the remaining number of policy rice is still relatively large, and the pressure on the market is still relatively significant.

At present, all kinds of rice are in different stages of growth. Among them, early rice is in tillering-jointing stage, one-season rice planting is widely distributed, Heilongjiang and Hebei parts enter transplanting stage, Sichuan Basin and central Yunnan are in transplanting and re-greening stage, and most of Jianghuai are still in seeding and seedling raising stage.

According to industry insiders, from 2008 to 2015, Anhui rapeseed area decreased by 60% to 70%, and the annual output of rapeseed dropped from about 1.5 million tons at its peak to about 500,000 tons now. Hubei is still the largest rapeseed producing area in China. In 2008, Hubei rapeseed planting area was about 17 million mu, and the output was about 2.19 million tons; this year, Hubei rapeseed planting area is expected to be 9.6 million mu, and the output is about 1.06 million tons, a decrease of more than 50%, similar to Anhui. In 2008, the annual output of rapeseed in China was 12 million-13 million tons, which was relatively recognized by the oilseed industry. The total output is expected to decline by about half compared with 2008.
