Last Updated: 2024/11/05, Spring comes, a lot of burst pot meat should be moved to change the pot, winter was you abuse dead empty flowerpot need to fill it. Before always heard flower friends say that he just bought or just moved the pot of meat in a very bad state, but also soft collapse is falling leaves, anxious not to do.

Spring is coming, many of the broken succulent pots need to be replaced, and the empty flowerpots that have been tortured to death by you in winter need to be filled. Before, I always heard the flower friend say that the meat he had just bought or just moved the pot was in a very bad state, soft and leafy, and he was in such a hurry. Just sweep the blindness here, and you don't have to read it if you can. First of all, let's talk about the general method of moving the basin of newly bought succulent plants.

Do you want to change the succulent plants you just bought for a beautiful pot? By moving the basin, the plant can be transferred to a new environment to grow, which promotes succulent plants. That's why some plants grow better after moving pots. However, it is risky to move the basin, because as long as any plant has gone through a change of roots, it will take time to restore its growth. After the removal of the basin, if the external conditions are not suitable, such as high temperature and cold, it will affect its growth condition and even cause death directly, especially in snowy days.

Let me tell you something.

1. Take off the basin

To remove the red plastic basin, you can first gently pinch the outer basin to loosen the peat soil inside. When taking off the basin, it is recommended to proceed when the soil is completely dry, for two reasons, because when the soil is wet, it means that the root of the plant is playing a role in absorbing water, and it is more harmful to the root; in addition, it is easy to cause some wet soil attached to the basin and the plant, which is not very beautiful. After the soil is slightly loosened, the soil can be poured out without too much effort in the process. Fat and tender leaves are easy to break if you push too hard, just gently.

2. Arrange the root system

After succulent plants grow for a period of time (about 1-2 years), there will be partial root necrosis for many reasons, such as bacterial infection, soil consolidation and so on. Therefore, it is necessary to clean up these dead roots by turning the disk. Root necrosis will not only affect the absorption of plants, but also affect the healthy roots of the wound if the infection continues to spread, and finally spread to the plant itself.

Clean the soil next to the root system, and you will smell the fragrance like ginseng, which is the smell emitted by healthy roots! If we see worms or rotten roots at this time, we will wash the roots or cut off the head and re-send the roots. At present, the plant looks very healthy, so we do not wash the roots! After cleaning up most of the peat soil, you can proceed to the next step.

3. Prepare for planting-bottom layer

Most pots have holes, and if you buy a small medium, it is recommended to use a permeable net or paper towel to cover the bottom hole slightly, so that the stone will not be quickly lost from the hole each time it is watered or moved. (tip sharing: it is also suitable to replace the bottom net with makeup cotton used by girls)

Then we will put about 1/5 of potted ceramsite on the bottom layer. Ceramsite is made from a special kind of clay and water and fired at 1100 ℃. It is a reddish-brown boulder-shaped product of different thickness, which is the best medium for hydroponic cultivation. With numerous independent pores, the surface can absorb a large amount of water, while the interior still retains the dual structure of air, so that it has both water retention and ventilation. It has the characteristics of non-biological, clean and aseptic, beautiful arc, hard texture and not easy to crush, and will not deteriorate after long-term use.

4. Start planting

It will be clearer for everyone to see it graphically, because the pots to be changed this time are relatively small. Before replanting succulent plants, put some mixed soil not too much, just cover the ceramsite, in order to keep the plants intact and stable. If you put too much mixed soil at first, it will cause the plant to have no space and not grow deep enough to wobble easily.

Then put the succulent plant that has just taken off the basin into the basin, and then fill the mixed soil into the gap between the pot and the plant, which can be assisted by a clip to press the medium slightly to make the medium more compact, so that you don't have to worry about being too full, because there will be a gap between the stone and the stone, and the root system is not easy to choke.

5. Pat the basin.

Finally, pat the basin to reduce the gap, and sometimes you can fill in more dirt, repeat it a few times and you're done.

Benefits of moving the basin:

Matters needing attention after moving the basin:

The main results are as follows: 1. The best basin-moving season for succulent succulent plants is from October to March (30 ~ 5 degrees).

2. No watering for a week, because in the process of root removal, there will be more or less damage to the root system, so let the wound heal and dry.

3, do not direct sunlight for a week, put it in the window or balcony side of the astigmatism, let the root system slowly adapt to the new environment.

4. the first watering is in the morning until the hole is watered out, and the plant will grow new roots a week later and then feed water normally.

5. The outdoor ventilated area should be watered once every 2 weeks, and the indoor area should be watered every 2 or 4 weeks.

In fact, my plans are the most conservative, many succulent plant varieties of the degree of skin is unimaginable, you will find that these methods are actually too cumbersome, only the more delicate varieties need such a complicated process. Hehe, but if you haven't been in contact with succulent plants for a long time and haven't fully grasped their habits, follow a conservative plan. If you are already an old hand at nurturing, it is business as usual.
