Succulent plants are generally easier to raise, and even in a potted environment, there is usually no need for us to deliberately do some aspects of conservation and management every day. But if we raise them in pots, we can't keep succulent plants growing in the old soil until they die. Changing the soil in time can not only make the plant grow better, but also prolong the life span.

However, it is not possible to change the soil for succulent plants anytime and anywhere, because the time for plants to slow down the seedlings varies in different seasons. And in the uncomfortable climate environment will bring many difficulties to succulent soil replacement, a little carelessness may lead to soil replacement failure. At the same time, it is not better to change the soil as frequently as possible, because the plants have to adapt to the new pot soil environment after each change of soil.

Therefore, if we change the soil for pot-raised succulent plants, we should not only control the frequency, but also take the correct method. But the first thing to do is to choose an appropriate time for it, so as to better promote the plant to take the pot, so that the plant can quickly return to normal growth. Changing soil for succulent plants can be done in the following situations.

1. When we find that the succulent plants raised in our own pots do not grow obviously or do not grow for a long time, then we might as well consider changing the soil for them. Because this situation occurs when other conservation aspects are done well, then it may be because the basin soil is no longer suitable for plant growth, so it is necessary to change the soil in time.

2. When succulent plants have rotten roots, we can also consider changing soil for them. Succulent plants are generally more likely to cause rotten roots due to overwatering, and they may die if we don't save them in time. And succulent plants generally appear leaf wilting, shedding and other conditions, need to timely check whether the root rot, if confirmed, to change the soil in time, or even change the basin.

3. When many cubs are exposed in the mother plant of the succulent plant, or when the young plant grows up, the root system of the plant becomes very much, and when there is not enough space in the basin to stretch, it is often necessary to change the basin in time, and the soil needs to be changed at the same time. The ramet should be divided, and the transplant should be transplanted. This can not only solve the problem of insufficient space in the basin, but also replenish fresh and more adequate nutrients.

4. Potted succulent plants generally need to change the pot and soil regularly every 1-2 years. After all, the root system of the plant will become more and more developed with the growth, and the nutrients in the pot soil will be consumed less and less. In order to ensure that the plant can always maintain robust growth and good ornamental posture, we also need to change the pot and soil, and generally combined with root pruning.

Generally speaking, it is best to change the basin for succulent plants in time under the above circumstances, and if you can not change the soil in other cases, try not to change the soil. After all, each time the soil is changed, the plant has to re-adapt to the new basin soil environment, thus going through a slow seedling process. The more frequently the soil is changed, it is disadvantageous to the growth of the plant, because the plant has to constantly adapt to the new basin soil environment, and the growth of the plant is very weak during the slow seedling period, and the general growth is very poor.
