Carrots like cool environmental conditions, few diseases and insect pests, a wide range of adaptability, good field management is a necessary link to ensure high yield, so how to manage carrot planting in the field?

Weeding management

Carrots like light, so weeding and interseedling should be carried out early, and herbicides should be sprayed in time to prevent large area cultivation from forming grass famine. For every 667m, use 750g-1000 g herbicide, first dissolve it with a small amount of water, then dilute it with 100g water, choose sunny day to spray the ground before emergence after sowing, and the weeding rate of annual weeds can reach 90%; or for 2 true leaves after seedling, spray 100g l00ml with water 50kg for every 667m. It is also possible to apply prometryne only, before sowing carrots or in the case of two true leaves of LMUR, with 100g 60kg of 50% wettable powder mixed with water every 667m. The spray treatment has a control effect of 100% on Monocotyledon weeds, 98% on dicotyledonous weeds and only 1% on carrot seedling growth. Be sure to master the concentration when using it, and do not overdose it.

Density management

In the afternoon of sunny day, the overdense seedlings, inferior seedlings and miscellaneous seedlings will be pulled out. The first time was carried out with 1-2 true leaves, combined with shallow tillage, the seedling spacing was 3-4cm, and the second time was carried out with 5-6 true leaves, and the seedling spacing was 10-12cm.

Watering management

Carrot seeds are not easy to absorb water, sowing in different seasons, soil drought will delay emergence, and cause lack of seedlings and broken ridges, sowing to seedling continuous watering 2-3 times, soil moisture maintained at 70-80%. Carrots are afraid of waterlogging, so they should be drained in time after it rains. Carrots grow to the thick fingers, that is, the fleshy root expansion period, is the period of the greatest demand for water, should be timely watering to prevent the fleshy root center Lignification. Water is usually watered once every 10-15 days to prevent moisture from increasing and decreasing. Timely and appropriate watering is very important to improve the quality and yield of carrots and prevent the formation of split roots and divergent roots.

Fertilization management

Before tillage, the soil should be fully fertilized with 3-4 tons of organic fertilizer per 667 years, and turned deeply after application. During the growth of carrots, topdressing twice, in order to avoid "root burning" combined with watering, water with fertilizer, the seedling stage should be thin, the later stage should be concentrated. The first topdressing was carried out at 20-25 days after seedling and 3-4 true leaves. Ammonium sulfate 2-3kg, calcium superphosphate 3kg and potassium chloride 1-2 kg were applied for 25 days, and ammonium sulfate 7kg, calcium superphosphate 3-4kg and potassium chloride 3-4kg were applied every 667m.

Prevent green shoulder and bolting of carrots

Carrots are cultivated in the early stage of fleshy root expansion, about 40 days after sowing, so that the root is not buried in the soil, but not buried in the plant heart, which can prevent the carrot fleshy root shoulder from exposing the soil surface and turning green by sunlight. When carrots enter the period of vigorous leaf growth, the amount of water and fertilizer should be properly controlled and squatting seedlings should be ploughed in order to prevent the excessive growth of leaves and cause bolting. If bolting occurs, the bolting should be removed in time to prevent the Lignification of fleshy roots from affecting the quality.
