Zizania caduciflora, also known as high melon, bamboo shoots, bamboo shoots, bamboo shoots and so on, is a common vegetable. It grows in the lakes of the Yangtze River and is suitable for growing in fresh water. Let's take a look at the storage methods of Zizania caduciflora.

Clear water immersion storage

The selected Zizania caduciflora, which is not young, white, solid and sturdy, with 2 or 3 leaves removed from the sheath, is directly or put into a bag and soaked in a clear water pool (tank). Pay attention to make Zizania caduciflora all immersed in water, change water frequently and keep the water quality clean. this method can keep Zizania caduciflora fresh and lossless, and the appearance and meat quality is good.

Alum water reservoir

Dip the selected and good quality Zizania caduciflora with peeled shell in alum water (add 0.5-0.6 kg alum every 50 kg of water and dissolve it), cover it with sterilized well-shaped bamboo slices, press the stone on top, and press Zizania caduciflora 10-15 cm below the surface of the water. The management should remove the foam on the water surface in time. If the foam is too much and the water quality turns yellow, the alum water should be replaced in time to prevent Zizania caduciflora from rotting. You can also apply alum powder directly to the base of Zizania caduciflora and then pack it into boxes and pile it up. If the storage temperature can be controlled at about 1 ℃, it can be kept fresh for 2 to 3 months.

Cold storage

The selected Zizania caduciflora with 2-3 wrapped leaves are packed in boxes (baskets) in cold storage, or bundled into bundles of 5.0-7.5 kg, put in net bags, placed on cold storage shelves, keep the storage temperature 0-1 ℃, relative humidity 95%-98%, and can be safely stored for about 2 months.

Plastic film bag

The selected shelled Zizania caduciflora meat is packed in a 0.04mm thick polyethylene plastic film bag, sealed or packed into a 0.06mm thick perforated PVC plastic film bag, each containing about 5kg, put on the shelf in the cold storage, keeping the storage temperature 0 ℃, relative humidity 95% 98%, and can be stored for more than 2 months. The appearance and quality of Zizania caduciflora are good, and the loss of dry consumption and mildew is small.

Salt seal

This is a folk storage method, the specific method is to first spread a layer of salt at the bottom of the container (tank, bucket, pool, etc.), about 5 cm thick, and then spread the selected, sheathed Zizania caduciflora with two or three shells in the container in order. Pile to 5cm 10 cm from the mouth of the container and seal with salt. This storage method is suitable for areas with dry air and cold climate. In the southern region, due to the high temperature and humidity, the sealed salt is easy to dissolve, and Zizania caduciflora is also prone to yellowing, deterioration and decay, so special attention should be paid to the control of humidity during storage.

Cellar storage

Select late-maturing Zizania caduciflora which is not old or tender, with two or three shells, the scabbard is shortened, spread out on the shelf in the cellar, keep the temperature of the cellar 0 ~ 8 ℃, and can be stored for more than 2 months.
