Okra, also known as okra, sheep's horn bean, kidney-tonifying vegetable, etc., is an annual herb of the genus okra of the family Malvaceae, native to India, and is now widely cultivated in tropical and subtropical areas. Hunan, Hubei, Guangdong and other places in China also have a large area of cultivation, known as the king of vegetables, has a very high cultivation value, let's take a look at okra seed prices and planting methods!

How much is the okra seed per jin?

The price of okra seeds is about 40-60 yuan per jin, but it varies according to the variety, quality, origin and quantity of seeds. Okra in the production of multi-use seed reproduction, seedling transplanting and direct seeding, seedling transplanting per mu with about 0.6 jin, direct seeding with about 2 jin per mu. It takes about 55 days from sowing to the formation of the first tender fruit, and then the whole harvest time is as long as 90,120 days, the whole growth period can reach about 150 days or more, and the yield per mu is about 2000-3000 kg.

Sowing method of okra

1. Direct broadcast in the field: it is better to sow okra in spring. Soak the seeds 12 hours before sowing and put them under 25: 30 ℃ to promote germination, and sow seeds when 60% of the seeds are "broken mouth". It is appropriate to sow in holes, with 3 plants in each hole and a depth of 2 cm to 3 cm. First water, then sow, and then cover the soil about 2 centimeters.

2. Seedling transplanting: okra raised seedlings in sunny beds and solar greenhouses in the first and middle of March, soaked seeds before sowing, sowed according to the row spacing of 10 cm, and covered with soil about 2 cm thick. The bed soil temperature should be kept at 25 ℃ after sowing, germinated and unearthed at 4-5 days, and planted at 30-40 days old.

Planting methods of okra

1. Soil preparation and fertilization: okra planting plots should be ploughed deeply in autumn and winter in time after the previous harvest, and the land should be made fine, flat, loose and soft before planting. 5000 kg of rotten barnyard manure and 20 kg of compound fertilizer should be applied per mu, and then ditches should be opened to make beds.

2. Interseedling ploughing: okra seedlings should be ploughed and weeded in time after being unearthed, once every 10 days or so. Before the first flower blossoms, we should strengthen ploughing and squat seedlings properly to promote root development. Cultivate the soil before closing ridges to prevent plant lodging.

3. Fertilizer and water management and protection: okra requires higher air and soil moisture during the growth period, especially sufficient moisture during the flowering and fruiting period. At the same time, proper topdressing was applied on the basis of sufficient base fertilizer, and the first topdressing was carried out after seedling emergence, applying 6kg urea per mu.

4. Setting up shelves to pick leaves: okra should be set up to prevent lodging in summer, to prevent overgrowth caused by vegetative growth in the early growth stage, and to remove the old leaves below the harvested tender fruits in time in the middle and later stages. Those who are reserved for planting fruit should pick the heart in time, which can promote the ripening of the fruit.

5. timely harvest: okra blossoms and bears pods when the plant height is about 30 cm from sowing to plant height, and the first tender fruit takes about 55 days to form. After that, the whole harvest time is as long as 90,120 days, and the whole growth period can reach about 150 days, or even longer.

Control of diseases and insect pests of okra

1. Epidemic disease

Okra can be infected in both seedling stage and adult stage. when the seedling grows 20 cm, the disease spot spreads from the leaf to the main stem so that the stem becomes thinner and fades. at the initial stage of the disease, it is a dark green watery anplastic spot and turns brown after enlargement.

[prevention and treatment] at the initial stage of the disease, 72% manganese zinc, downy urea WP500 times solution or 69% Anke manganese zinc WP900 times solution or 64% antivirus alum WP400 times solution or 58% metalaxyl, manganese zinc WP500 times solution was sprayed once every 7 days and 10 days to prevent and cure for 3 times.

2. Virus disease

[harm] after the plant was infected, the whole plant was damaged, especially the delicate leaves at the top, which showed mosaic or brown markings, early infection, plant dwarfism, little or no fruit.

[prevention and treatment] at the initial stage of the disease, the disease was treated with 5% bacteriorin WP400~500 times or 20% virus AWP400 times or 15% Zhishanling 1000 times or 83% resistance enhancers for 3 times, once every 7 to 10 days.

3. Poison caterpillar

[harm] the poisonous caterpillar is mainly harmful to okra at the seedling stage, which often feeds on the mesophyll after emergence and retains the leaf vein when it is serious.

[prevention] spray with 10% EC1500 solution or 5% strong SC1500 solution or avermectin EC+ fenvalerate EC3000 solution.

4. Ants

[harm] ants often gather on the flower apparatus after okra blossoms.

[control] spray 48% EC1000 solution or 5% Regent EC1500 solution or mix sawdust with 0.3% Regent solution and spread it on the place where the ants come out.
