Note: there are many varieties of tomatoes, the main cultivated varieties are Maofen 802, Yukang 4, Yukang 5, Qinfen 2, Xifen 2, Xifen 3, Ruby, Super Zaofeng, Zaokui, Qiangfeng, Taiwan Hong, Zhongshu 4 and so on. Early maturing varieties should be selected when planting early in spring or late in autumn, and middle and late maturing varieties should be selected in the main season.

Planting conditions of Tomato

1. Temperature: tomato is a temperature-loving vegetable. Under normal conditions, the optimum temperature is 20: 25 ℃, and the optimum soil temperature for root growth is 20-22 ℃. Increasing soil temperature can not only promote root development, but also significantly increase the content of nitrate nitrogen in soil, accelerate growth and development, and increase yield.

2. Light: tomato is a light-loving crop, with a light saturation point of 70000 lux and a suitable light intensity of 30000 to 50000 lux. at the same time, it basically requires short days in the process of changing from vegetative growth to reproductive growth, but the requirement is not strict.

3. Moisture: tomatoes need more water, but they do not have to be irrigated frequently. Generally, soil moisture is 60% 80% and air humidity 45%. High air humidity not only hinders normal pollination, but also causes serious disease under the condition of high temperature and humidity.

4. Soil: tomatoes do not have strict requirements on soil conditions, but in order to obtain high yield and promote good root development, fertile loam with deep soil layer, good drainage and rich organic matter should be selected, and the suitable pH value is pH6~7.

Sowing methods of Tomato

1, soil preparation: tomato nutrient soil requires porosity of about 60%, ph6~7, available phosphorus more than 100mg / kg, available potassium more than 100mg / kg, available nitrogen more than 150mg / kg, loose, fertilizer and water conservation, and then evenly spread on the seeding bed.

2. Seed treatment: tomato seeds can be soaked in warm soup or trisodium phosphate. The seeds can be sowed directly after soaking, but it is best to accelerate germination and sowing. The seedlings emerge quickly and neatly after the accelerated seeds are sown, which is conducive to the cultivation of robust seedlings.

3. Sowing density: tomato seeds contain about 300 seeds per gram. According to the planting density, the field seed consumption is generally 20 grams per 6 mu, and the seeding bed can sow 10 grams per square meter. If the seed germination rate is less than 85%, the sowing rate should be increased appropriately.

4. Sowing time: the sowing time of tomatoes should be comprehensively considered according to planting season, climatic conditions, cultivation methods and other factors. Spring open-field cultivation in Beijing is usually sown from mid-February to early March. In autumn, open-field cultivation is sown in the south of the Yangtze River from late July to early August.

5. Sowing methods: tomatoes usually have sowing, strip sowing and on-demand sowing. Cover the soil immediately after sowing. Spread the soil evenly and thinly on the bed with 8 grams of carbendazim 50% wettable powder per square meter to prevent seedling collapse, and cover the bed surface with plastic film in winter and spring.

The planting method of tomato

1. Land selection and soil preparation: the fields cultivated with tomatoes should be turned and dried in autumn, with a tillage depth of about 30 centimeters. Even if the stubble is arranged frequently and it is difficult to dry the soil, it should be harvested after the previous crop and deep ploughing. Try to dry the soil for a long time as much as possible.

2. Apply sufficient basic fertilizer: after deep ploughing and raking, the tomato cultivation land is opened into compartments with a width of 80 cm and a height of 16 cm and 24 cm, with the application of rotten organic fertilizer 3000kg to 5000 kg per mu, combined application of calcium superphosphate 25 kg, potash 20 kg (or plant ash 80 kg).

3. Timely planting: early maturing cultivation of tomato in spring protected field was planted in cold tail and warm head weather from late February to early March, and plastic film mulching cultivation in open field was planted in cold tail and warm head weather around March 20. There were 3000 early-maturing varieties per mu and 3500 mid-late maturing varieties per mu.

4. Pruning and binding vines: there are two ways of pruning tomatoes, one is to leave only the trunk, all the lateral branches are removed, and the other is to leave the lateral branches under the first inflorescence except the trunk, and all the other lateral branches are removed. No matter which pruning method is used, we should pay attention to binding the vine in time.

5. Protecting flowers and promoting fruit: in order to prevent falling flowers and fruits, tomatoes can be sprayed with 20~30ppm in the flowering stage, the lower leaves of the plant can be removed properly in the middle and later stage of plant growth, and the varieties of infinite growth should be topped in time after 4 or 5 sets of fruit, so as to improve the fruit setting rate and promote fruit ripening.

6. Reasonable topdressing: tomato was fertilized after planting slow seedlings, the first ear began to expand and the second topdressing was carried out, and 1.5% calcium superphosphate or 0.3% potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution was used for foliar topdressing during fruit growth.

7. Drainage irrigation: tomatoes should be ploughed to preserve soil moisture after planting slow seedlings, and irrigation should be controlled during the flowering of the first inflorescence to prevent flowers and fruits from falling due to excessive growth of stems and leaves. After setting fruit in the first ear, the plant needs more water, so it should be irrigated in time and drainage should be paid attention to in rainy season.

8. Timely harvest: tomatoes can be harvested in green ripening, discoloration, ripening and ripening. Tomatoes can be harvested in green ripening period, transported and sold in discoloration period. Local sale or self-food should be picked in the ripening period, that is, when the fruit turns red.
