Rapeseed is one of the most popular vegetables in the market in recent years. To a large extent, it is very similar to lettuce leaves, the more similar the taste. It's just that it's a leafy vegetable and lettuce is a stem vegetable, and lettuce leaves can be eaten but taste bitter, while rape is a little sweet. Today, let's follow the pro-agriculture network to learn when rape is planted and how to grow it.

Planting time

In the past, oil and wheat can be said to be a kind of seasonal vegetable, but at present, it seems that rape can be seen in the market all the year round, that is because rape has a strong ability to cope with the environment and a development of planting technology now, so the planting time of rape can be said to be all the year round. But the normal planting time of rape is from mid-late April to mid-May in spring, August in summer and September in autumn. It is relatively cold in winter. If you want to plant rape and wheat, try to grow it in a greenhouse.

Planting method

1. Land selection and preparation

As oil, wheat and vegetables have a strong ability to adapt to the environment, so the requirements for land are not particularly strict, it can be said that as long as a piece of land plus a little careful care of it can grow very well. However, attention should be paid to deep ploughing as far as possible, and good application of base fertilizer, which has certain requirements for the fertility of the soil, so the base fertilizer is basically based on farm manure, but at the same time, it should be combined with urea, diammonium phosphate, potassium sulfate and compound fertilizer to spread fertilizer evenly before cultivated land.

2. Sowing and raising seedlings

Sowing is best after the rain, or artificial watering should be carried out. First, the land should be watered, then the seeds of rape should be sowed, and then the seed surface is sprinkled with a layer of farm manure, that is, the poop of livestock. Finally, a layer of fine soil is sprinkled to cover the seeds. If the temperature is not very high, you can cover a layer of film for sprouting. When 80% of the seeds have already grown, the film should be opened in time. Otherwise, the seedlings will be burned out.

3. Scientific planting

Generally, five or six days after germination, colonization can begin. Generally, the distance between plants is about 20 centimeters, and the distance between rows is 15 centimeters. Planting at this interval will not only increase the yield of oilseed rape, but also prevent some diseases caused by density.

4. Field management

Field management is the control of water and nutrients in the field during the growth of rape. The growth process of rapeseed requires a lot of nutrients, usually three times of fertilization, one fertilization when rape has five or six leaves, and the second fertilization is when rape grows to 20 centimeters. The third fertilization is the final acceleration when rape is almost ready for harvest. The general way of fertilization is to spray potassium dihydrogen phosphate or other foliar fertilizer with water.

5. Pest prevention

The most common disease of rape is downy mildew, the most common pest and leaf worm. Downy mildew we generally use Purek or Metalaxyl manganese zinc wettable powder for prevention and control, and leaf worms are relatively abominable. They are generally sprayed with fly mite pure EC, and if they are planted in a small area, they can catch insects on their own. In this way, vegetables will be more environmentally friendly.

6. Timely harvest

The time of harvest must be timely. If you eat by yourself, you can harvest early. At that time, the leaves are very fresh and tender, but if they are sold, they are usually harvested when rape grows 15 to 20 leaves. At this time, the leaves are still relatively good, and you can sell them at a good price. If they are harvested too late, all the leaves will be aged, and they will seem to have no appetite.
