Everyone knows that soil is needed to grow crops, but the soilless cultivation techniques that have emerged in recent years have subverted the traditional concept that crops can be grown well without soil. It is mainly able to control a series of diseases and insect pests and reduce losses, so the editor brings you soilless cultivation techniques about towel gourd today. Let's take a look at it with me.

1. Raising seedlings

Before we start planting, we need to prepare towel gourd seedlings before soilless cultivation with a nutrition bowl. Soak the seeds in warm water for 3-4 hours, then disinfect the seeds in 0.1% potassium permanganate solution for 2-3 hours, remove them and rinse with water. After sterilization, germination is carried out, and the temperature must be kept between 26 and 30 degrees Celsius, because the temperature is too low to germinate. When more than half of the buds grow to 3-5 mm, put the buds into a nutrition bowl filled with matrix on a sunny day, and then cover them with matrix and plastic wrap to keep warm and moisturize.

2. Management

Within a week after sowing, the temperature should be controlled at 30-32 degrees during the day and 18-22 degrees at night. Because towel gourd is a temperature-loving crop, the temperature around towel gourd must be maintained. After towel gourd emergence, remove the film on the ground, and then appropriately reduce the temperature of 3-5 degrees. When the towel gourd seedlings grow 3-4 leaves, you can begin to colonize. Raise the seedlings a week before planting, maintain the matrix moisture in the nutrition bowl, water every morning, and the sunshine time is not less than eight hours.

3. Colonization

As mentioned above, when towel gourd seedlings grow 3-4 leaves, you can start planting, as far as possible in the sunny morning. Double-row planting should be adopted when planting in greenhouse, the row spacing should be at least 0.6 m, and the interval between each plant should be at least 0.4 m. The spacing of each planting slot should be between the 0.8m-1m, so as to protect the root from damage. Basically, the liquid was supplied once every 1-2 days after planting, and the concentration of nutrient solution should be increased in overcast and rainy weather to improve the quality of towel gourd.

4. Harvest

Towel gourd is an annual crop, which can be harvested once after 7-10 days of proper management. when the towel gourd stalk becomes not rough and a little color, the fuzz on the peel is reduced, and it can be harvested by pressing softer. After the harvest party, the loofah became old and the seeds gradually matured and could not be eaten. Therefore, the harvest interval should be cut as short as possible, preferably around 8 o'clock in the morning.

The above is a brief introduction to the soilless cultivation technology of towel gourd. Soilless cultivation can save water and fertilizer, reduce diseases and insect pests, is not limited by the region, and is the latest technology to achieve high yield. Towel gourd disease is easy to occur, crops that need a lot of water and fertilizer are the most suitable for soilless cultivation, but soilless cultivation is only suitable for large-scale cultivation, not suitable for families to grow their own food.
