Tomato planting is very common in rural areas, but there is still a large-scale planting area, its planting method is relatively simple, but it is necessary to pay attention to the occurrence of diseases, especially in autumn, the incidence of tomato disease is the highest. So what are the common diseases of tomatoes in autumn? How to prevent and cure it? Let's have a look!

1. Early blight

Disease characteristics: early blight harms leaves, leaves appear round brown spots at the initial stage of the disease, occasionally harm stems and fruits, stem and fruit disease characteristics are similar to leaves, in wet conditions, disease spots will produce many black spots.

Prevention and treatment methods: do a good job of orchard disinfection, remove all the diseased branches, leaves and fruits of the orchard, and spray with mancozeb or chlorothalonil wettable powder once a week for one month.

2. Leaf mold

Disease characteristics: leaf mildew mainly harms the fruit. In the initial stage of fruit infection, the disease begins from the pedicel, there are sunken patches on the pedicel, and patches of different shapes appear on the leaves, causing the leaves to gradually wither and yellow, and then die and fall directly in the later stage.

Prevention and control methods: the prevention and control methods are almost the same as the early blight, and the affected fruits and leaves need to be removed in time. Then disinfect the orchard and spray with Sukeling wettable powder and other drugs, the time is the same as the early blight.

3. Late blight

Disease characteristics: the harm of late blight to tomatoes is very great, its incidence rate is very fast, and the infection is very strong, mainly in the petiole and stem. The growth of the seedlings showed obvious problems and began to lodge, color patches appeared on the leaves, mildew spots appeared on the patches under humidity, and the diseased fruit became very stiff in the later stage of the disease.

Prevention and control methods: the prevention of late blight is given priority to, do a good job of ploughing and cultivating soil in the orchard, disinfect the orchard regularly, and then spray carbendazim and other drugs for prevention and control, once a week, about 4 times.

4. Grey mold

Disease characteristics: Botrytis cinerea harms the stems and leaves of tomatoes, showing green patches on the surface of the pericarp, accompanied by gray mildew spots. The plaque is not affected by the leaf vein, and the infection rate is accelerated in the humid environment, and the symptoms of fruit infection are similar to those of leaves.

Prevention and control methods: first of all, when we plant, we should carry on the prevention work, use carbendazim wettable powder and other drugs to spray and control the seedlings to eliminate bacteria. When spraying flowers, an appropriate amount of anti-gray mold agent can be added to the water for prevention, and Sukeling wettable powder can be used for sterilization after the disease.

The above are the diseases often encountered in planting tomatoes in autumn, which we should pay attention to, because the disease will do great harm to tomatoes if it is not treated in time.
