Bergamot is also known as bergamot, it first appeared in the Compendium of Materia Medica, it can promote digestion, cardiovascular and respiratory diseases have a certain effect, but some of its components also have certain toxins, so before taking it has to be treated. It is one of the more precious Chinese herbal medicines, so today we will follow Xiao Bian to see some problems that need to be paid attention to when planting it.

1. Time

The planting time of bergamot is mainly related to the method of planting it, and secondly to the climate of the planting place. There are three main planting methods of bergamot, the first is seed propagation, generally in March of each year around sowing, and the second is through the method of cuttage propagation, generally in March of each year and around August and September planting, the third is layering propagation, it is planting time and cuttage planting time is very close. Secondly, because there are certain differences in the climate in various regions of our country, we choose the most appropriate time to plant according to the specific situation.

2. Soil

Although the adaptability of bergamot is strong, it still has certain selectivity to the soil. If the soil is too alkaline, it is not suitable for planting bergamot. Therefore, when selecting planting land, we should pay attention to the pH test of the soil first. It is best to have acidic soil. Secondly, we should choose the land with good drainage system and strong soil permeability and sufficient nutrients for planting.

3. Temperature

Bergamot is a tropical and subtropical plant, so it has certain requirements for temperature. The most suitable temperature for bergamot growth is about 20 to 25 degrees Celsius. The highest planting temperature cannot be higher than 32 degrees Celsius. Above this temperature, bergamot plants will be burned to death. At the same time, the lowest temperature cannot be lower than five degrees Celsius. If it is lower than this temperature, it will stop growing. In many areas of our country, the four seasons are relatively distinct, and the temperature changes are also relatively large, so we should pay attention to adjusting the temperature of the planting land when planting, especially in summer and winter, and pay attention to heat dissipation and warmth.

4, fertilizer water

Bergamot is a shallow root plant, and its absorption of water and nutrients is relatively weak, so when fertilizing and watering, we should pay attention to increasing the number of fertilization and watering, and each time the amount of fertilizer and water is appropriate. In spring, when the fingers grow branches and leaves, try to apply fertilizer once a week combined with watering and intertillage weeding. In summer, the fingers need a lot of nutrients and water, because this belongs to its growth season, so we should increase the amount of fertilizer and watering. After autumn can slowly reduce the amount of water, and topdressing potassium and phosphorus and other trace fertilizers. Wait until winter to just keep the soil moist and have a small amount of nutrients.

5, pruning

When pruning, special attention should be paid to if the newly planted bergamot blossoms, then we need to erase the flowers, otherwise it will affect the growth and development of the plant. The second is that it and other plants pruning is different, basically need to be pruned all year round, because bergamot its branches and leaves grow very fast, if not reasonable simple pruning, then it is easy to lead to accelerated aging of the whole plant, seriously affecting the yield.
