Farmers get rid of poverty and fall into the problem of ability poverty

The problem of "poverty" is an important problem that restricts the development of various economic and social undertakings in our country, and the eradication of poverty is a common social problem faced by the whole country. The effective way to solve poverty in the short term is to raise the income level of the poor, while in the long run, the poor must have the ability to lift themselves out of poverty. At present, what is the ability of China's poor people to get rid of poverty? What is the situation of farmers getting rid of poverty under the current situation of capacity? With these questions, the China Rural Research Institute of Central China normal University, relying on the platform of the "hundred villages observation" project, conducted an empirical survey on a total of 2259 farmers in 75 poor villages in 15 provinces from June to September 2014. and conducted in-depth special interviews with 1405 poor households.

The research shows that the poor farmers in our country have low quality level, lack of vocational skills, single agricultural production, limited structural adjustment, difficult to raise funds, few external contacts, low policy utilization, and lack of comprehensive capability. as a result, farmers lack sufficient human capital and social capital to get rid of poverty, and it is difficult to get rid of poverty in the short term, and there is a big gap between China and the country. To this end, we suggest that we should focus on improving farmers' ability to get rid of poverty, increase government policy support, and speed up farmers' poverty alleviation.
