Mustard is an annual herb of Brassica of Cruciferae and is a unique vegetable in China. It is cultivated all over the country. Its leaves can be used for pickling and edible, seeds and whole herbs can be used as medicine, it has the effect of reducing phlegm and asthma, reducing swelling and pain, seeds can also be used as seasoning and oil extraction, it can be said that the whole body is a treasure. So how to control diseases and insect pests when planting it? Let's take a look.

1. Soft rot

The disease mainly harms the rhizome, and irregular spots appear at the base of the stem or near the ground at the time of the disease. with the development of the disease, the spot will gradually expand, resulting in internal soft rot, mucus outflow from the soft rot and stench.

Prevention and treatment methods: in the onset of the disease, can be sprayed with ammonia copper water agent or 7 agricultural streptomycin control, sprayed once every other week, 2-3 times after the prevention and control can be successful.

2. Black spot

Black spot mainly harms the leaves, when the disease occurs, the disease spots of the leaves are round or nearly round. When the disease is serious, the disease spots will converge together, resulting in local withering of the leaves and perforation in the later stage.

Prevention and treatment methods: at the initial stage of the disease, chlorothalonil and antidote were sprayed once a week for 2-3 times.

3. Virus disease

Virus disease can harm seedlings and adult plants. When the seedlings are damaged, the leaves will appear round spots of turning green, and in the later stage, there will be yellow-green mottled leaves, mosaic planting, leaf shrinkage and other symptoms. After the adult plant is infected with the disease, the heart leaf will also have the same symptoms, serious leaf deformity, vein necrosis, plant growth dwarfing, will stop growing or die.

Prevention and control methods: sowing as late as possible, early sowing is more likely to infect the disease than late sowing, and the disease is mostly spread by aphids, so in the prevention and control of the disease, we should first cut the route of transmission and do a good job in killing aphids. Dimethoate emulsion, parathion, aphid fog and other agents can be used to control the disease.

4. Aphids

Aphids are not only the transmission route of virus disease, but also cause harm to mustard. Both adults and larvae can do harm to mustard. During the outbreak period, a large number of adults and larvae gather on the tender leaves to suck sap, which often leads to leaf chlorosis, yellowing, withering and death, causing great harm.

Control methods: clean up the residual weeds in the field after winter harvest, turn the soil deep and destroy the overwintering eggs. Toxic soil can be made into poison when planting, and can be sprayed and killed in the outbreak period.
