Okra is becoming more and more popular in our country, not only because of its rich nutrition, but also partly because of its unique taste and comfortable feeling. Now, with the increase in market demand, more and more people intend to grow okra on a large scale. However, okra has certain environmental requirements. The following small series brings you the requirements of okra growth on environmental conditions. Let's take a look together!

1. Soil

Okra has strong growth ability and is not strict with soil requirements. It can grow normally in most soils. However, its too poor soil will reduce the yield of okra, affecting the quality of okra pods, and is not suitable for artificial cultivation. Therefore, before planting, we still have to choose sandy soil with deep fertile soil, strong permeability and low incidence of diseases and insect pests. This kind of soil is most suitable for okra growth, and its growth ability and growth speed will be greatly improved. Can effectively improve the yield, enhance the quality of fruit pods, expand their own planting benefits.

2. Temperature

Okra is very thermophilic and cannot grow in cold environments, so it cannot be cultivated in the open in winter and is not suitable for planting in the north. Okra has a strong heat resistance, the temperature after sowing should not be lower than 15 degrees, the best germination temperature is about 26-28 degrees. The average temperature of each month should be kept above 17 degrees, otherwise the flowering rate will be seriously reduced. The temperature at night should not be lower than 13 degrees, otherwise the okra will grow slowly, the plant will be short, the leaves will be thin and the flowering rate will decrease. The optimum growth temperature of okra is about 27 degrees.

3. Moisture

Okra water demand is not large, has a strong ability to drought, not suitable for growth in stagnant water environment. Especially in the seedling stage, if there is too much water, it will easily lead to okra seedlings rotten roots and cause various diseases and insect pests. However, in the planting process or according to soil moisture and weather changes, such as appropriate watering. Keep the soil moist, especially during the okra harvest. Insufficient moisture can reduce pod quality. Therefore, we should not only prevent too much water from harming the growth of okra, but also ensure that the water needed to meet the growth of okra.

4. Light

Okra is very light-loving, very sensitive to changes in light, in the growth process to ensure that there is sufficient light time and length. Sufficient light can promote the growth of okra, enhance the immune ability of plants under light, and improve the flowering and pod setting rate. If the light is insufficient, it will cause the okra leaves to be dark, the photosynthesis ability to decrease, the nutrient accumulation is insufficient, the pod quality is reduced, and the planting benefit is affected. Therefore, we should ensure that there is sufficient sunlight in the planting area when planting, and control the planting density when planting, so as to prevent mutual shielding and affect the light absorption.

The above is a brief introduction to the environmental conditions required for okra growth, which is limited by temperature in many places. It is also the reason why many friends fail to plant, so everyone must pay attention to these planting conditions when planting to prevent planting failure. Today's introduction is here, this article is for reference only, thank you for reading and support.
