Sugar beet, which originated in Europe, is a main raw material for sugar production except sugarcane introduced in China. Among them, beet is also divided into vegetable beet, sugar beet, feed beet and leaf beet. Although sugar beets can be divided into many kinds, they are all grown in the same way. At the same time, we also have some points to pay attention to when growing sugar beets. If you are interested, you can understand them carefully.

1. Planting conditions

Sugar beets still have certain requirements for the planting environment. Generally speaking, sugar beets are grown in temperate or cold temperate regions. The second is that the planting land is preferably in the sunny, relatively flat soil with loose soil, sufficient fertility and convenient drainage and irrigation. There is also to carry out crop rotation, not stubble, otherwise it will affect the yield and quality of sugar beet.

2. Sprouting

The shell of sugar beet seeds is so hard that it is difficult to absorb moisture, and it is not easy to sprout without treatment. Well, before we plant, we need to treat the sugar beet seeds, usually soaking the seeds in warm water of about 50 degrees, and constantly stirring them in the soaking process to make them heated evenly, so as to ensure that the seeds can fully absorb water. Soak it for 12 hours, remove it, drain the water, and sow seeds.

3. Sowing seeds

Sowing it is best to sow early at the right time, usually when the surface temperature is about five degrees Celsius. Secondly, when sowing, we generally use beet special suction film or under-film precision sowing machine to sow seeds, sowing should be straight, sowing should be uniform, depth should be consistent. The spacing between rows of seeds is generally about 50 to 60 centimeters, and the spacing between plants is about 20 to 30 centimeters.

4. Fertilizer and water management

Fertilizer and water management is also very important in the process of sugar beet planting, if fertilizer and water management is not proper, it will directly affect the yield and quality of sugar beet. In the process of sugarbeet seedling growth, there is generally no need for topdressing and watering, until its peak growth period, its fertilizer and water demand will increase sharply, then we need to allocate a reasonable proportion of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizer. In the rainy season, pay attention to drainage, at the same time to loosen the soil to cultivate the soil, so as not to harden the land and affect the normal growth of sugar beets.

The above are a few small problems that need to be paid attention to in the process of planting sugar beet, but these small problems still have a great impact on the growth of sugar beet, so we need to be more careful when planting. Improve the yield and quality of sugar beet while reducing the cost as much as possible.
