Sugar beet is a kind of herbaceous plant of Chenopodiaceae and Sugarbeet genera. It is one of the raw materials for sugar production and one of the most popular vegetables abroad. Sugar beets in China are mainly distributed in Xinjiang, Heilongjiang and Inner Mongolia, and now the scale of artificial planting of sugar beets is constantly expanding, so do you know how to fertilize sugar beets? Now let's study together.

1. Base fertilizer

Base fertilizer is also called base fertilizer, and we usually adopt the principle of re-application and deep application. The basic fertilizer of general crops is basically farm manure or organic fertilizer, so sugar beet is no exception. There are generally three ways of applying base fertilizer, the first is that it can be applied in combination with soil preparation in autumn, the second is when ploughing in spring, and finally it is carried out by means of ridge-breaking and ridge-breaking fertilizer or ridge-breaking fertilization. We should also spread the basic fertilizer evenly, and cooperate with the use of a small amount of chemical fertilizer, which can effectively improve the soil structure.

2. Planting fertilizer

Basically, there is no need to apply seed fertilizer in crop planting, and it is necessary to apply seed fertilizer when planting sugar beet, because the sugar beet has very small kernels and low nutrient content, in order to promote the growth and development of seeds, so we need to apply seed fertilizer when sowing. We usually use phosphorus and potassium fertilizer as the main fertilizer, or farm manure and sugar beet special microbial agent. In addition, when applying seed fertilizer, it should be isolated from the seeds to avoid sprouting.

3. Extra-root topdressing

Sugarbeet topdressing is mainly divided into two aspects, the first is extra-root fertilization, the second is foliar fertilizer, so let's first understand extra-root fertilization. Extra-root fertilization is generally carried out according to the growth of sugar beet, when the sugar beet grows well, but we only need two times of off-root fertilization, and each topdressing is mainly urea, which can be used with phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, or is a special fertilizer for sugar beet. If the growth state of sugar beet is not very good, we need to reasonably control the amount of fertilizer and increase the number of topdressing according to the specific situation. When applying fertilizer, we need to open a ditch at the root, the ditch is about seven or eight centimeters deep, and cover it with soil after applying fertilizer.

4. Foliar fertilizer

In order to improve the quality of sugar beet, we also need foliar fertilization when fertilizing outside the root, so that we can accumulate sugar content of sugar beet. Foliar fertilization we need to strictly control the concentration of foliar fertilizer, generally about 1% of potash fertilizer, 2% of phosphate fertilizer for spraying. Or appropriate use of boron fertilizer, about 30 kilograms per mu, and according to the sugar beet growth of the demand for nutrients, reasonable supplement of micro-fertilizer. Boron fertilizer can be used twice a week when sugar beet roots grow to avoid yellowing or exhaustion of the leaves.

The above is the simple fertilization technology of sugar beet, unscientific fertilization methods not only can not improve the yield and quality of sugar beet, but also affect the normal growth of sugar beet, so we need to master the fertilizer characteristics of sugar beet, and then apply fertilizer reasonably to promote high yield and high quality of sugar beet.
