Most people do not like to eat balsam pear, that is because balsam pear is really bitter, but there are still many people eat balsam pear, that is because of its own nutritional value. Although this is the case, balsam pear is still very popular every summer, and balsam pear has been planted on a large scale in most areas. So what problems do we need to pay attention to when planting balsam pear? Let's follow the editor to read the following notes on balsam pear planting.

1. Planting density

Whether using seed direct seeding or seedling transplanting, we need to reasonably control the planting density of balsam pear. When using seeds for hole sowing, the distance between rows of each hole is about 60 cm, and the distance between plants is 40 cm. When raising seedlings and transplanting, the plant spacing is 50 cm and the row spacing is 80 cm. In other words, balsam pear can be planted with 1600 to 1700 plants per mu, and the planting density should not be too high, otherwise it will lead to poor field permeability and affect the normal growth of balsam pear.

2. Temperature management

Balsam pear growth requires a high temperature, if the temperature is too high, it will cause burning seedlings, but if the temperature is too low, it will freeze to death. In general, the temperature suitable for balsam pear growth should be kept between 15 and 30 degrees. In fact, the best growth temperature is between 25 and 30 degrees. The lowest temperature should not exceed 15 degrees. If the temperature is lower than 15 degrees, heat preservation measures should be taken to raise the temperature.

3. Build a bracket

After the balsam pear is planted, when it grows to about 40 to 50 centimeters, it is necessary to build a bracket. Build scaffolds for balsam pear, which can not only make rational use of land resources, but also maintain good permeability, of course, it can also avoid the harm of some diseases and insect pests. The bracket of balsam pear is generally built in accordance with the herringbone shape, and the bracket can be made of bamboo pole, wooden pole and so on. After the main bracket is set up, connect the bracket with a rope, pull the balsam pear vine to the bracket, and let the balsam pear vine grow along the bracket and the rope. at the same time, the balsam pear vine needs to be tied to the bracket in the early stage to avoid falling off.

4. Watering and fertilization

Balsam pear has a certain degree of drought resistance, but the demand for water in its growing period is also very large, so we should not be misled. Especially in the full fruit period of balsam pear, the need for water is the most, there is to pay attention to the balance of water, otherwise it is easy to crack melon phenomenon, affecting the quality of balsam pear. And in each watering, urea and compound fertilizer can be applied properly, which can promote the growth of branches and leaves, enter the fruiting period, maintain the growth of balsam pear seedlings and prolong the fruiting period.

5. Pruning and forking

After the balsam pear seedlings grow for a period of time, that is, when the balsam pear seedlings grow to about 50 centimeters, the heart leaves of the main vines should be removed to promote the growth of side branches of balsam pear. The second is the balsam pear main vine less than 50 centimeters, if there is a flowering phenomenon, then we should remove the flowers, so as not to affect the growth and development of the whole plant. Finally, after the balsam pear fruit, such as overgrown flowers and small balsam pear, we all need to remove them properly.
