Ripe tomatoes can be eaten raw or cooked, but do not eat unripe tomatoes. Because unripe tomatoes contain carcinogens, they can affect your health. Although tomato planting can be planted by hole sowing, we usually use the way of raising seedlings and transplanting. So do you know how tomatoes are raised? Let's follow the editor to read the following introduction to tomato seedling raising techniques.

1. Seedling substrate

Seedling substrate actually refers to the nutrient soil, so we need to prepare the nutrient soil before sowing and raising seedlings. In general, the pH of the nutritious soil should be moderate, or slightly acidic, and then add an appropriate amount of available phosphate fertilizer, available nitrogen fertilizer and available potassium fertilizer to the soil, and then add sufficient soil miscellaneous fertilizer, mix and mix evenly. In this way, the substrate used to raise seedlings is basically completed.

2. Seedbed finishing

Generally speaking, Yang Hui chooses plots with flat terrain, simple topography, good water source, deep soil layer, loose soil quality and sufficient fertilizer. Of course, there is also a good drainage, otherwise it is also easy to catch diseases. Then lay the prepared nutritious soil evenly on the seedling ground, make the seedling bed, set up the ditch, flatten the bed seedlings, and finally wait for sowing.

3. Budding management

Tomato seeds need to go through a process before sowing. First of all, we have to rub the seeds, and then soak the seeds in clean water for about ten minutes to clean up the seeds that are not full, diseases and insect pests or poor quality. Then soak the seeds in water with a water temperature of about 20 degrees and keep stirring until the water temperature drops. Then soak in warm water with a transposition temperature of about 30 degrees, and fish it out half an hour later. Then soak the seeds with good temperature in potassium permanganate solution, remove them after 15 minutes, rinse with clean water and dry them. Finally, the seeds are placed in a well-ventilated environment to dry moisture, and then placed in an environment with a temperature of about 25 degrees to accelerate germination. During the budding period, you should mainly keep moist and spray a little water every day, otherwise the seeds will not sprout neatly.

4. Sowing method

Tomato seeds are usually raised around March every year, and of course some areas are carried out in July and August every year. When sowing, we can use sowing, strip sowing and on-demand three ways, but in any case to ensure uniform sowing. After sowing the seeds, it is necessary to cover the seeds with a layer of about one centimeter thick, and the thickness of the cover should be the same, otherwise it will affect the unearthing of tomato seedlings. After covering up the seeds, there is one more thing to do, do not forget, that is to water again, but the moisture should not be too much, so as to avoid rotten seeds.

5. Seedbed management

After sowing, we should keep the temperature of the seedling bed at about 25 to 28 degrees, and the humidity in the air at about 65%, which can promote the emergence of seedlings. Secondly, if there is a covering film, then reasonable ventilation should be carried out. If the ventilation is poor, it will also affect the emergence of tomato seedlings. Generally speaking, when there is no rain, it needs to be watered every two days or so. After tomato seedlings emerge, we need to keep them unwatered for about a week, water them again a week later, and carry out proper topdressing to promote the growth of tomato seedlings so as to transplant them as soon as possible.

Generally speaking, the time for raising tomato seedlings does not exceed 25 days. Generally, half a month after the emergence of tomato seedlings, we can transfer seedlings and plant them. This is the end of the tomato seedling raising technology that the editor is going to introduce to you today. If you are interested, you can follow us.
