It is rich in vitamins and carotene and is of great benefit to the body. Now sweet pepper is planted all over our country, so do you know how to grow sweet pepper with high yield and high quality? Is there any way to plant to increase the yield of sweet pepper? Let's take a look at how they handled it.

1. Select excellent varieties

Now the variety of sweet pepper is not single, its variety is varied, but not all sweet pepper varieties are suitable for cultivation all over the country. So in this case, if we want to have a high yield of sweet pepper, then we need to choose a suitable variety of sweet pepper according to the local planting environment. At present, the varieties with strong adaptability and good yield and quality on the market are purple dragon, yellow angel and orange angel. You can also consider them when planting.

2. Pay attention to sowing time

There are certain differences in the climate between the north and the south of our country, so the sowing time of sweet pepper is also different; and if different planting methods are used, then its planting time is also different. Scientific planting time is also very helpful to improve the yield of sweet pepper, generally divided into two kinds, the first is planting in early spring, the second is planting in late autumn. In early spring, seedlings are usually raised at the end of October, transplanted in mid-late December, and harvested in early March of the following year. Planting in late autumn is usually sown in mid-August and transplanted in mid-late October, so that it can be harvested in January of the following year.

3. Soil selection and arrangement.

Sweet pepper cultivation does not have high requirements for soil, but the selection of suitable soil and scientific soil preparation are also helpful to increase the yield of sweet pepper. The soil for planting sweet pepper had better be a place with good water source, good drainage, deep soil layer, strong water and fertilizer conservation and convenient transportation. In general, the previous crop can not have the same attribute as sweet pepper, and the second is that the sticky land is not suitable for sweet pepper planting. Sweet pepper planting land consolidation is generally to carry out deep ploughing, and to make the soil a little smaller, the soil should be applied with sufficient fertilizer, such as rotten barnyard manure, cow dung and so on.

4. Planting density

Reasonable planting density is also beneficial to increase the yield of sweet pepper. We should ensure that there is good ventilation and light transmittance between sweet pepper plants, otherwise sweet pepper is very prone to disease, such as anthrax, rot and so on, which have a great impact on the yield and quality of sweet pepper. The planting density row spacing is generally 60 cm, and the plant spacing is about 50 cm.

5. Scientific water and fertilizer

Scientific water and fertilizer management is the most important point to increase the yield of sweet pepper. The demand of sweet pepper for nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium is different in different growth periods. Topdressing needs to be divided into three stages, the first stage is growth fertilizer, mainly nitrogen fertilizer, supplemented by phosphorus fertilizer; the second stage is flower fertilizer, mainly phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, supplemented by nitrogen fertilizer; the third stage is strong fruit fertilizer, mainly potash fertilizer, followed by phosphate fertilizer, nitrogen fertilizer last. At the same time, we also need to pay attention to the use of micro-fertilizer, such as proper supplement of calcium, magnesium, boron and so on. The growth of sweet pepper needs sufficient moisture, especially in the flowering and fruit stage, but it should not be excessive, otherwise there will be fruit rot.

Planting sweet pepper in order to increase its yield in addition to the above, in fact, there are many aspects can play a role in increasing production. For example, summer pruning, temperature management, light control, pest control and so on, to do a good job, the yield of sweet pepper can also be guaranteed.
