Tomatoes are a common summer vegetable that can be eaten raw. They used to be grown mainly in warm southern summers, but they have long been grown as out-of-season vegetables in greenhouses and greenhouses. However, no matter which planting method is used, field maintenance management after planting has a direct impact on planting results. Field management generally has the following aspects, which can be explained to you one by one.

1. Irrigation

A small amount of watering once at planting, and then watering once a week later. After that, to the fruiting period, no drought, no watering, squatting seedlings, early maturing varieties grow weak, blossom early, the time should be short, medium and late maturing varieties grow prosperous, control seedlings, the time extended some. When the fruit expands, it should end squatting seedlings and flood irrigation once in time. Depending on the weather and soil conditions, watering once a week, gradually increasing the amount of water to keep the soil moist. If drip irrigation is available, drip irrigation once a day. Summer sometimes high temperature and drought, sometimes rainfall, to dig a good row of irrigation ditch, keep moist without ponding.

2. Fertilization

Tomato roots are relatively strong, generally distributed widely but not deep, there are many roots, generally in the seedling stage after the emergence of the first watering can be added to a small amount of fertilizer to promote more roots. Compound fertilizer must be applied once before squatting to maintain the nutritional requirements during squatting. After squatting, quick-acting fertilizer should be applied once during fruit expansion period to promote fruit expansion and meet the simultaneous needs of fruit growth and nutritional growth. After that, it is necessary to fertilize again during the fruit color change period, so that the fruit has enough nutrients to mature.

3. Intertillage and weeding

After rain, one can intertill between rows, with some weeds pulled out, but this is usually done when the soil is dry. As long as the soil is hardened and sticky, it can be cultivated appropriately, but the number of cultivation should not exceed three times, which is easy to hurt the roots. If you find weeds, you can pull them out at any time. If there are too many weeds, you can also use medicine.

4. Set up a frame and tie the vine

In order to grow well, ventilated and easy to harvest, it is generally necessary to set up a frame for climbing in the planting row. However, he was afraid that the wind and rain would be too heavy, or the results would be too heavy, and the vines would not be able to hang on, so he still needed to tie the vines. After planting, before emergence, the frame is usually erected into a triangle or a quadrangle. Don't tie the vines too tightly, which hinders nutrient transport.

When planting tomatoes, doing the above main aspects should make tomatoes grow better and the results will increase a lot, but there are different management measures to assist production in different areas. It is still necessary to manage in combination with actual conditions.
