According to preliminary estimates, the online trading volume of agricultural products exceeded 100 billion yuan last year, accounting for 3% of the sales of agricultural products.

Statistics show that at present, there are more than 3000 agriculture-related e-commerce platforms in China, showing a trend of rapid growth. At the same time, agricultural means of production, leisure agricultural e-commerce has also started.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, agricultural e-commerce is only a major manifestation of "Internet +" modern agriculture in the field of agriculture, and "Internet +" modern agriculture has also achieved preliminary results in agricultural Internet of things and agricultural information services. Among them, in the agricultural Internet of things, the Ministry of Agriculture has successively implemented the national agricultural Internet of things application demonstration project and regional trial project in Beijing, Heilongjiang, Inner Mongolia and other 8 provinces (autonomous regions and cities). Agricultural Internet of things technology has been widely used in facility agriculture, livestock and poultry aquaculture, field crop planting, agricultural product quality and safety traceability, and more than 200 mature scale application models have been summarized. The effect is obvious in saving water, medicine, fertilizer, labor and so on.
