The planting area of cucumber in our country is very large. At present, the planting methods of cucumber are mainly plastic film mulching, which can effectively control the soil temperature and prevent the rapid evaporation of water from affecting the growth of cucumber seedlings. It has a very good promoting effect on the quality and yield of cucumber, so when we plant cucumber, how to use plastic film to raise seedlings? The following editor will give you a brief introduction, let's have a look!

1. Seed treatment

First of all, we should choose full, strong and wound-free high-quality cucumber seeds, and after selecting the seeds, we should pay attention to the disinfection of the seeds. Because we cannot guarantee that the seeds are completely free of pathogens, it is a necessary measure to reduce the incidence of diseases and insect pests. First of all, soak the dried seeds in warm water of about 60 degrees for about 10 minutes. When soaking, stir at the same time, when the water temperature drops to about 30 degrees, soak the seeds for about 5 hours, and then remove them for sprouting. Or you can use carbendazim hydrochloric acid and other solutions to soak the seeds for about an hour, then remove and wash them in water for about 4 hours, and then sprout.

2. Sprouting method

After the seeds have been sterilized, the seeds have to be germinated. After disinfection, you should first clean the seeds, wash the water on the seeds, and then wrap them with a wet cloth and put them in an environment of about 30 degrees to promote germination. When sprouting, we should pay attention to turning the seeds frequently to ensure that the seeds are heated evenly. After about a day or so, the seed will begin to sprout. When the seed is exposed to the root tip, it should be properly cooled, controlled at about 25 degrees, and the seed will sprout in two days. If the seeds cannot be sown on cloudy and rainy days after germination, the seeds should be wrapped in a wet towel and placed in a 10-degree environment to control the growth of buds and wait until the environment is suitable.

3. Sowing and covering with plastic film

To make a good choice of soil before sowing, it is best to use bean leafy vegetables as the first crop in the soil. The soil layer remains soft, fertile and normal in drainage and irrigation. 2-3 weeks before sowing, deep ploughing the soil, and then pay attention to apply sufficient farm manure per mu, the amount should be kept at about 2500kg. After the soil is leveled and raked, the ditches are dug and the fields are made. And to be in good condition, the depth of the hole should be kept at about 8 cm, and each hole should sow about 3 seeds. The film should be covered in time after sowing, and when the seedlings break the soil, the film should be opened properly to promote seedling refining.

4. Water and fertilizer management

When the soil temperature is stable at about 15 degrees, the seedlings should be interspersed to keep the strong and get weak. After three days of interplanting, the first topdressing was carried out, and then about 10 days later, the urea of about 15kg was topdressing per mu. After the cucumber passes through the plastic film, the demand for water increases, so we should pay attention to keep the soil moist in the early stage of planting. In the early flowering stage, small water should be properly watered to promote root growth and improve melon setting rate. The amount of fertilizer and water should be increased about 5 days before harvest. The watering time should be kept at about once a week, and attention should be paid to drainage in the rainy season to avoid stagnant water and root irrigation leading to rot.

The above is a brief introduction of cucumber seedling raising technology with plastic film. The work of raising cucumber seedlings is very important and directly affects the yield, so we must pay more attention to it. That's all for today's introduction. This article is for reference only.
