During a card inspection in November 1980, the Agriculture and Forestry Administration seized a downhill orchid whose tractor was packed in a sack. In order to properly dispose of the orchids, they were sent to the Forestry Institute for planting. At that time, Mr. Gu Xuejing was the leader of the first team of flowers and trees in the Forestry Institute, and he was responsible for dealing with the orchids.

At that time, very few people in Zhoushan raised orchids and knew orchids. Mr. Gu has not been raising orchids for a long time. In order to grow these orchids well and screen them before planting, he may be able to select one or two varieties of orchids, so Mr. Gu invited Mr. Ding Yiqing, a pioneer in Zhoushan to cultivate orchids, to choose them together.

The orchids poured out from the sacks were tied up randomly, and the broken roots and leaves were entangled with each other, and their cries could be heard in the cold wind. Gently open the orchid tied together, carefully manage, trim the rotten roots and leaves, and split the big bag of orchid. Busy from morning to afternoon, there was no surprise except for a few pockets of vegetarian hearts.

Kung Fu lived up to a dedicated man, and a bundle of bluegrass scattered with four or five different seedlings caught Mr. Gu's attention. Take a closer look at the grass: the leaf posture is oblique or semi-drooping, the leaf is about 20 cm long and 0.8 cm wide, the leaf surface groove is obvious, the leaf edge is inlaid with gold edge, and a bulging bud is sandwiched on the Reed head. Mr. Ding looked at it carefully and said happily, "this grass is no less than the imperial crown of Japan!" The first edge grass in Zhoushan was found in this way.

At that time, bluegrass was raised by Mr. Gu and Mr. Ding. In the second year, the orchid reflowered, only to be seen: the scape is round, the pole is 15 cm high, the outer three petals are lotus-shaped, the petals are thick and waxy, the petals are angled, the petals are green and inlaid with gold edges, the main petals are in the shape of an upper cover, and cherish two calyx falling on the shoulder; the petals are like clam shells, also inlaid with gold edges, and the lips are covered with tongue, which is rolled backward and decorated with gorgeous "U"-shaped erythema; the florescence is long and well guarded, and the flower does not deform for a long time after blooming. When the flowers are in bloom, they are faint, fragrant and mellow, which is a rare combination of leaves and flowers.

In the early 1990s, Mr. Wang Zefu of the Orchid Family in Zhoushan, according to a couplet hanging on the wall of his home: "everything is complacent, and the hobby of life is natural." The first word is embedded in the flower name, named "Wanguang". Before or in the following years, this couplet has been associated with the naming of Zhoushan orchids. The famous "Tian Yi he" and "Tian Shi he" all come from this couplet.

"Wanguang" grass is easy to raise, easy to grow, easy to flower, easy to grow grass, and can bring out chimera if the grass is planted well. This grass has been spread among a small number of orchid friends in Zhoushan for ten years, and it was not until 1991 that it began to flow out to Ningbo, Shaoxing and other places.
