Jerusalem artichoke, also known as artichoke ginger, devil ginger and so on, is a very herbaceous plant with a very large planting area in China. The main use site of Jerusalem artichoke is underground stem, which is rich in starch, inulin and other nutrients, and its market demand is relatively large. So how do we manage it when we plant Jerusalem artichoke? The following editor brings you the field management technology of Jerusalem artichoke, let's have a look!

1. Weeding

After Jerusalem artichoke seedlings are unearthed, the work of replenishing seedlings should be done well, and weeds should be properly weeded according to the actual situation. Generally, the soil is loosened once a month or so after sowing, and the depth of the soil is kept at about 6cm. Weeding combined with ploughing and loosening soil can prevent weeds from grabbing the growth nutrition of Jerusalem artichoke and affecting the growth of seedlings. Then the second weeding work is carried out before Jerusalem artichoke budding, and we should also do a good job of weeding after rain, and cultivate soil combined with mid-tillage to create a good growth environment for Jerusalem artichoke.

2. Fertilization

Before Jerusalem artichoke is planted, we have to apply sufficient base fertilizer. Generally speaking, soil preparation is carried out after autumn harvest, and then sufficient soil and miscellaneous fertilizer is applied, and the amount is controlled at about 5000kg/ mu. In the application of base fertilizer, the base fertilizer of 7thumb 10 should be spread mainly, and the other part should be mainly concentrated in furrow. Then apply an appropriate amount of potassium sulfate, and then deep ploughing about 30cm, after deep ploughing to prepare the bed for sowing. Then topdressing should be applied twice in the growing period of Jerusalem artichoke, in late May and at the beginning of budding, and the fertilizers are mainly urea and potassium sulfate.

3. Watering

Watering must be done well in the seedling stage, jointing stage, budding stage and expansion stage of Jerusalem artichoke. Generally, Ching Ming Festival watered the seedlings once before and after, and then watered each stage in May, August and October. Although Jerusalem artichoke has a strong ability to resist drought, and then when the soil water content is sufficient, it has a great effect on the yield of Jerusalem artichoke. If the natural precipitation is normal and there is no drought, then there is no need to water. In case of drought, especially in summer and autumn, it is very beneficial to increase the yield and income of Jerusalem artichoke by watering budding water in August.

4. Picking buds

After Jerusalem artichoke enters the tuber expansion stage, the demand for nutrition and water will increase. At this time, we should not only meet the nutrient and moisture requirements of Jerusalem artichoke, but also do a good job of picking buds. Because the bud growth of the aboveground part of Jerusalem artichoke also needs to consume nutrient water, if there are too many buds, then it will rob the growth nutrition of the tuber, which will hinder the expansion of the tuber and seriously affect the quality and yield of the tuber. Therefore, after the tuber expansion period, we should remove the excess buds in time and retain them properly to promote the tuber expansion.

The above is a brief introduction of Jerusalem artichoke field management technology. That's all for today's introduction. This article is for reference only. I hope it can help you all.
