Spinach is one of the main vegetables in China, and its planting area is very large in our country. Although the output of spinach is high, there are many places we need to pay more attention to when we plant spinach. Especially the treatment of spinach seeds before sowing, such as seed soaking, sprouting and so on. The treatment has a direct impact on the yield of spinach. So what should be done with spinach seeds before sowing? Let's take a look at it with the editor.

1. Select seeds

Spinach seeds exist in the form of utricles, and a fruit usually contains a seed. The cortex of the seed is leathery, and the outer layer can ventilate and absorb water normally, but its inner layer is sclerenchyma. Water and air are basically impossible, so we must do a good job of soaking seeds and accelerating germination before sowing. Before treatment, we should first select impurities and some poor quality seeds from the seeds to avoid affecting the whole seedling. Keep some large, full seeds, and then prepare to soak the seeds.

2. Soaking seeds

After selecting the seeds, and then prepare a good seed soaking solution, mainly hydrogen peroxide, mixed with water, the proportion is controlled at about 1:4, and then stir well. Then put the seeds directly into the solution, and when you put the seeds, it is best to stir them at the same time. Let the seeds absorb enough water evenly, if not stirred. Then it will lead to uneven water absorption of spinach seeds, and the emergence of each seed will be different when sowing, which has a great impact on the overall growth of spinach, so we should pay more attention to it.

3. Seed soaking time

The soaking time of seeds is determined according to the temperature. If the temperature does not exceed 20 degrees, it usually takes about two hours to soak. If the temperature is about 25 degrees, it will take an hour and a half. By the same token, if the temperature is above 30 degrees, the soaking time can be shortened to about 50 minutes. Because the higher the temperature, then the seed activity will be greater, the absorption capacity will be stronger, so the time can be appropriately shortened. On the contrary, if the temperature is too low, the time should be extended appropriately.

4. Sprouting

When soaking seeds, we can not only use hydrogen peroxide to soak seeds. The seeds can also be soaked in clean water for about 12 hours. After soaking, the seeds are treated at a temperature of about 4 degrees for a day, and then wrapped in a wet cloth at a temperature of about 25 degrees to accelerate germination. If the seeds are soaked with hydrogen peroxide, hydrogen peroxide and other agents, then when the seed coat can be seen with the naked eye, it means that the soaking time is about enough. The seeds can be fished out directly. Then wash it with clean water and put it in a 25-degree environment wrapped with a wet cloth to promote budding.

The above is a brief introduction to how to deal with spinach seeds before sowing. That's all for today's introduction. This article is for reference only. I hope it can help you all.
