According to a survey of 26 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities producing summer grain in China, the sown area, output per unit area and total output of summer grain in 2015 are as follows:

1. The sown area of summer grain nationwide is 27692.3 thousand hectares (415.384 million mu), an increase of 110.7 thousand hectares (1.661 million mu) or 0.4 percent over 2014. Among them, the sown area of grain is 24057.4 thousand hectares (360.861 million mu), an increase of 131.5 thousand hectares (1.973 million mu) or 0.5 percent over 2014.

Second, the national yield of summer grain per unit area is 5094.0 kg / ha (339.6 kg / mu), an increase of 141.6 kg / ha (9.4 kg / mu) or 2.9% over 2014. Of this total, the yield per unit area of grain was 5412.4 kg / ha (360.8 kg / mu), an increase of 145.6 kg / ha (9.7 kg / mu) or 2.8% over 2014.

3. The country's total output of summer grain is 141.066 million tons (282.13 billion jin), an increase of 4.47 million tons (8.94 billion jin) over 2014, or 3.3%. Of this total, grain output was 130.209 million tons (260.42 billion jin), an increase of 4.195 million tons (8.39 billion jin) or 3.3% over 2014.

Explanation on the investigation of Summer Grain output

The summer grain output data published by the National Bureau of Statistics are obtained by two survey methods: the province as the overall sampling survey and the key survey in non-major producing areas.

(1) the caliber of summer grain

Summer grain includes grains, legumes and potatoes harvested in the summer. Summer harvest cereals mainly include wheat, corn and barley; summer harvest beans mainly include broad beans, peas and beans; potatoes include potatoes and sweet potatoes.

(2) scope of investigation

The summer grain data of 17 provinces (autonomous regions and cities), including Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shanxi, Jiangsu, Anhui, Shandong, Henan, Hubei, Chongqing, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan, Shaanxi, Gansu, Ningxia and Xinjiang, the survey teams of the National Bureau of Statistics organized a sample survey of more than 400 national survey counties (cities) to obtain the summer grain output.

The summer grain data of nine provinces (autonomous regions and cities), including Liaoning, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi and Hainan, are calculated by the relevant investigation teams on the basis of key investigations.

(3) Survey samples

The sampling survey of summer grain yield consists of a sampling survey of sown area and yield per unit area.

The sampling survey on the sown area of summer grain is carried out in more than 4000 investigated villages and more than 200,000 peasant households selected by the national survey counties (cities). The provincial investigation team calculated the sown area of summer grain at the provincial level according to the basic data of the survey.

The sampling survey of summer grain yield per unit area is based on the actual measurement and calculation of summer harvest wheat by taking 40, 000 sample plots from more than 3000 villages in the national survey counties (cities).

(4) the method of measuring production

The actual harvest measurement of wheat yield means that grass-roots investigators estimate the yield of wheat planting plots one by one and queue up in the investigation villagers' group according to the "Agricultural yield sampling Survey system" before wheat harvest, and draw a certain number of investigation plots to mark them. during the harvest period, the county-level investigators or auxiliary investigators will lay out the sampling plots and actually cut samples. Then the yield per unit area of the plot was measured by threshing, drying, water testing and weighing. The provincial investigation team calculates the average unit yield of the whole province based on the data of each selected plot.

The data of summer grain yield is obtained by multiplying the sown area of the sample survey and the per unit yield.

(5) other

Due to the late maturity of spring wheat in Gansu, Ningxia and Xinjiang, the current summer grain data are preliminary estimates.
