The background of rape planting and production

The planting area of rapeseed has an increasing trend in Sichuan in recent years, including the planting area of rapeseed in Luzhou is also increasing year by year, but the overall area is still very small. the main reason is that rapeseed yield is low, quality is poor, production management technology is not in place, geographical environment restrictions, rapeseed and its processed products market economic benefits are not high and so on. This paper only makes a simple discussion and analysis on the problems of low yield and poor quality of rape.

Application of Boron Fertilizer in Agricultural production

In traditional agricultural production, our concept of fertilizer use is often limited to paying attention to the use of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium in a large number of elements, while neglecting the application of trace elements (boron, iron, copper, zinc, manganese, molybdenum, chlorine). However, the growth and development of crops is necessary for these trace elements, if there is absolutely no trace elements, crops can not survive. For example, one or more of them can not grow normally if they are lack of crops. light ones affect yield and quality, while heavy ones may have no harvest.

In addition to the yield and quality of rape are related to the cultivated varieties and management level, the rational application of trace element boron fertilizer is also an important influencing factor. Rape is a highly sensitive crop to boron fertilizer. Once boron is deficient, there will be typical symptoms of "flowering but not fruiting", with low seed setting rate, few pods and poor quality. Boron deficiency also caused rape to turn green slowly during transplanting, low survival rate, underdeveloped root growth at seedling stage, yellow or purplish brown leaves, high branching nodes, few branches, root swelling disease induced in the middle and later stage of growth, stem rupture, lodging and so on. seriously affect the yield and quality of rape.

Analysis of boron fertilizer products on the market at present

At present, the main products of boron fertilizer on the market are borax and a small amount of borate, and the most used is borax, mainly because the price of borax is cheap. however, borax contains low content of pure boron, many impurities, poor safety to crops and poor solubility. the absorption and utilization of crops is low, and borax is mainly used as base fertilizer. Boric acid, on the other hand, has high content of pure boron, good dissolution and absorption and high safety. it is mainly used for foliar spraying, and the reason for less use is mainly due to the high price of boric acid, but from the comprehensive consideration of the quality, safety, yield and income effect of boron fertilizer, boric acid is recommended.

Application technique of Boron Fertilizer on rape

According to the demand characteristics of boron fertilizer in rape at each growth stage, boron fertilizer was applied mainly from the following key periods:

After transplanting at seedling stage, 200-300g / mu of borax was mixed with fine soil or river sand and mixed separately, or mixed with nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizer and applied to the field.

Bolting stage: 1500 times polyboron solution was used for foliar spray.

At the early flowering stage, 1500 times polyboron solution was used for foliar spray.

Note: boron fertilizer should not be applied more than 2-3 times, and the dosage and concentration should not be increased at will. When used as base fertilizer, an appropriate amount of lime can be added together.
