Last Updated: 2024/11/05, Corn is one of the grain crops with large planting area in our country, and it is also the main cash crop in our country. The planting history of corn in our country has a very long time. But growing corn for so long, there's always been a problem that all growers want to solve.

Corn is not only one of the food crops with large planting area in China, but also the main cash crop in China. China has a long history of corn cultivation. But growing corn for such a long time, there has been a problem that all growers want to solve, that is, the yield of corn. In many cases, the yield of corn is often not high, and the economic interests of farmers are not particularly good. So how to increase the yield of corn? Let's take a look at it.

1. Soil fertilization

Old corn growers all know that when planting corn, they usually have to carry out the second reclamation treatment, in order to dig out all the roots of the crops planted last year. To prevent the normal growth, development and germination of corn seeds from being affected when planting corn, we should pay attention to whether there are insufficient nutrients in the soil when reclaiming the soil, and if there are not enough nutrients, it takes a long time to add appropriate farm manure to the soil. It is best to use some poultry droppings, animal faeces have the advantage of good nutrients, because the digestibility of poultry is not very strong, so after the poultry eat, a large amount of food nutrients are not digested, or will be excreted with the feces.

2. Soil disinfection

As we all know, corn is not suitable for continuous cropping, so we should pay attention to disinfecting the soil before planting corn. Because other crops in the last season will inevitably breed some germs and parasites in the soil, such as sheath blight and ground tigers. Many diseases are common among crops, and everyone will think that sheath blight is spread by insects in the field as a medium, but they are all wrong. Most of the causes of sheath blight are caused by residual germs in the soil and the invasion of corn. The land tiger is a familiar pest. It eats the roots of the corn and makes the corn dead. Therefore, after reclaiming the land, we must use quicklime or potassium permanganate to carry out a comprehensive disinfection of the soil. It should be noted that when disinfecting the soil, we must avoid the rainy season, because Rain Water will wash away all potassium permanganate and quicklime, so soil disinfection will not have any effect.

3. Seed selection

In order to achieve the effect of high yield of corn, whether the correct selection of seeds and survival rate has a very important impact. Perhaps in the process of planting, people will often find that the seeds have not germinated or just germinated, as a result, they can no longer grow and die. the root cause of the dead seedlings is that there are insect eggs in the seeds, and the seeds without disease and eggs are not selected. or the seeds were not sterilized. This phenomenon can be referred to pea planting, the seeds begin to sprout, the internal eggs will gradually wake up, and then begin to harm the seed seedlings. Therefore, in order to reduce or avoid the occurrence of this situation, we must carry out a disinfection treatment on the corn seeds, which can be soaked in potassium permanganate solution for about a day, which can effectively kill the eggs inside the seeds.

The above three are the basic ways to increase corn yield. if you want to increase corn yield, you must not only have a correct management method, but also have patience. The high yield of corn will be determined when selecting seeds, and the three ways of weaving may only be suitable for some growers, but after all, each place has different management methods according to local conditions.
