About 2 million tons of Ukrainian corn have been arriving in Hong Kong since April, and six ships of US corn have also arrived in Hong Kong from June to August, so China's corn imports are under great pressure from June to August. China's corn imports will remain at a level of about 800000 tons in July, and the annual import volume is expected to be 4.5 million tons, an increase of 37 percent over the same period last year.
Customs data show that China exported 360 tons of corn in June and 578 tons last month. The export destination is mainly North Korea. Taking into account the poor overall demand in the feed industry and the substantial increase in imported substitutes, corn feed consumption is expected to be 106 million tons this year, down 7 million tons from the same period last year.
So far in 2014, the total import of sorghum has reached 7.42 million tons, an increase of 199% over the same period last year. Among the main import customs, Nanjing, Qingdao, Guangzhou and Huangpu Customs imported 124500 tons, 231300 tons, 246700 tons and 215300 tons respectively.
According to the summary data of China's wheat imports, China imported 1.3946 million tons of wheat from January to May 2015, a decrease of 1.1605 million tons, or 45.42 percent, compared with 2.5551 million tons in the same period last year.
