For cotton farmers, spraying foliar fertilizer is very important, but many farmers do not know which one to choose when choosing foliar fertilizer, and they do not know much about what they need to pay attention to when using foliar fertilizer. Let's learn about it with the editor.

I. selection of foliar fertilizer

1. Seedling stage

In the case of sufficient base fertilizer, strong seedlings can choose not to spray foliar fertilizer, excessive growth of seedlings can be appropriate to spray some plant growth regulators-propranolol to inhibit its growth, while weak seedlings can be sprayed many times to promote weak and become strong.

2. Growth period

When cotton enters the period of vegetative growth and reproductive growth, strong seedlings can properly spray plant growth regulators and micro-fertilizers at the same time, for example, boron deficiency will cause buds and bolls to fall, so boron fertilizer can be sprayed 2-3 times in the budding stage. When plant growth regulators are sprayed on seedling growth, it can also provide control of fertilizer and water for regulation; weak seedlings in the growing period in the case of normal fertilizer and water management, can spray appropriate amount of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium elements.

3. Later stage

In the later stage, when there is drought and premature senility in the cotton field, some nutritious foliar fertilizer can be sprayed to prevent premature senescence.

II. Matters needing attention in the use of foliar fertilizer

1. Application period and time

In the cotton growth stage, the application of foliar fertilizer was mainly carried out from the exuberant stage of vegetative growth to the stage of both vegetative growth and reproductive growth. Among them, the effect in the middle and late growth stage is greater than that in the later stage, and that in the later stage is greater than that in the early stage, so the best use of foliar fertilizer should be carried out in the middle stage of cotton growth, that is, from the end of June to the beginning of August, when the effect is better. Spraying foliar fertilizer is best to choose cloudy or sunny morning dew dry or after 4 pm, try to avoid high temperature and strong light at noon, so as not to evaporate too quickly or cause leaf burns. If it rains after spraying fertilizer for 3 hours, spray it again when the weather is fine after the rain, but reduce the concentration appropriately.

2. Application method and concentration

Foliar fertilizer is mainly applied to tender leaves, and the back of leaves is the best, spraying branches and leaves start dripping water on the front and back, spray evenly, spray should be used along with, do not place for too long. Different crop types and their foliar fertilizer dosage and spraying concentration are also different. Generally, the amount of fertilizer sprayed per mu is 45-55 kg, and the concentration varies from 0.5% to 1%, or strictly in accordance with the instructions. Some adhensive agents, such as washing powder and soap liquid, can also be added to enhance the adhesion of the fertilizer liquid on the leaf surface and prolong the absorption time of the leaf.
