Press conference of the 23rd China (Taicang) Orchid Expo

On the morning of April 3, 2013, the press conference of the 23rd China (Taicang) Orchid Expo was held in Taicang, Guangming Daily, China Daily, People's Daily overseas Edition, China News Service, China Flower News, Xinhua Daily, Jiangsu Satellite TV, Suzhou Daily, Suzhou TV Station, Yangtze Evening News, Modern KuaiBao, Jiangnan Times, Suzhou Radio Station, Consumer Times, Wen Wei Po, Xinmin Evening News, people's Daily, Sunan Bantong More than 20 invited well-known media from all over the country attended the press conference, including Suzhou Network, China Orchid Trading Network and Jiangsu Network.

Zhao Jianchu, vice mayor of Taicang City, introduced the situation of the Orchid Expo. Wu Huiliang, president of Jiangsu Orchid Association, and Fan Zongzhi, executive vice president of Taicang Orchid Association, answered reporters' questions.

The 23rd China (Taicang) Orchid Expo will be unveiled on April 12 in Taicang New Town, Taicang Modern Agricultural Park. This is the first time that the Chinese Lanbo Expo has been held in a county-level city, and it is also a grand event to showcase Orchid products, Orchid Art and Orchid Culture at home and abroad.

China Orchid Expo is a national large-scale orchid exhibition activity, which aims to carry forward the Chinese orchid culture, cultivate orchid varieties and promote the healthy development of the orchid industry. The Orchid Expo is hosted by the Orchid Branch of China Flower Association, Jiangsu Orchid Association and Taicang Orchid Association.

Taicang has developed economy and society, and Loudong culture is extensive and profound. The heritage of orchid culture is also very profound. Wang Shimao, the younger brother of Wang Shizhen, a great writer of the Ming Dynasty, wrote the book miscellaneous collections in Taicang, detailing the habits of Huilan. Chen Qiutao, a wood merchant in Taicang in the Qing Dynasty, once planted the best "Autumn characters" of Huilan Green Plum, which alone showed the orchid altar in the Qing Dynasty. Mr. Zhu Jiazhan, a master of modern Chinese painting, was good at painting orchids alone. Today, Taicang has become one of the fastest and most comprehensive areas of orchid development in Jiangsu Province. There are a large number of orchid enthusiasts, large-scale cultivation, complete varieties, a collection of new and old tea products, and have held many large-scale orchid events such as cross-strait and provincial orchid exhibitions. Orchids have become a charming city business card in Taicang.

With the theme of "Lanxiang Jiangnan, Beautiful Taicang", this Lanbo Expo has set a precedent for combining Lanbo with modern agricultural landscape, Jiangnan classical gardens, orchid culture and characteristic culture. Through this Lanbo Expo, using orchids as the medium, show Taicang's unique Loudong culture and orchid culture, expand exchanges and cooperation between Taicang and other regions, and promote the vigorous development of Taicang orchid culture industry and tourism. It also contributes to the promotion of China's orchid industry and the development of orchid culture.

The main venue of this year's Lanbo Expo is located in Lanpu, Taicang New City, with three sections: characteristic pavilion, comprehensive pavilion and trading area. Built in the style of Ming and Qing dynasties, the new town Orchid Garden (that is, the characteristic Hall) is divided into the characteristic Orchid Hall, the Orchid Culture Center and the Loudong Culture Center, covering an area of 100mu and a construction area of about 5800 square meters. The comprehensive hall is the orchid pavilion of other provinces, which is composed of four exhibition areas: "Jiangsu famous Orchid", "wonderful work in Zhejiang and Shanghai", "Central Plains Qunfang" and "Southern Lanhui". The 4000 square meters are fully intelligent greenhouse glass sheds, and the off-site trading area covers an area of 3000 square meters.

Located in Taicang modern agricultural park, the new town orchid garden is an organic part of the landscape of modern agricultural park. Taicang Modern Agricultural Park is a national 4A tourist scenic spot, which is composed of Modern Agriculture Exhibition Hall, Flower Horticulture Exhibition Hall, Enli Rose Manor, Jiangnan Ecological Wetland Hall and other venues. It is a modern agricultural demonstration area that integrates ecology, high efficiency, tourism and extroversion. The establishment of the new city orchid garden has added a new color to the modern agriculture in Taicang.

The Lanbo Expo will last for three days. In addition to orchid exhibitions, exchanges, awards and transactions, the Council of the National Orchid Association, the Orchid Summit Forum and a series of tourism, economic, trade and cultural activities will be held. The organizing committee of the Lanbo Expo plans to set up 5 special gold awards, 50 gold awards, 80 silver awards, 100 bronze awards, 12 best organization awards, 7 best contribution awards, 1 orchid culture special prize and 7 orchid culture awards, totaling 262 awards.

In order to welcome the 23rd China (Taicang) Lanbo Expo, the Taicang Municipal Party Committee and the government attached great importance to it, and the relevant departments worked together to put forward the idea of "being a good host and running the Lanbo Fair".
