Wheat is an important food crop in China, of which winter wheat accounts for more than 80% of the sown area of wheat. The fertilization technology of winter wheat is very important to the yield of winter wheat, so how to apply fertilizer to winter wheat? Let's take a look.

1. Apply a good base fertilizer

Appropriate amount of nitrogen and phosphorus and potassium fertilizer should be provided at the seedling stage to make wheat seedlings grow early and have a certain number of tillers before overwintering, so as to lay a solid foundation for spike formation, grain increase and weight gain after spring. The amount of base fertilizer generally accounts for 60% of the total amount of fertilizer applied in the whole year. Generally, about 1000-1500 kg of rotten farm manure is applied per mu, and the appropriate amount is matched with 10 kg of urea or 25 kg of ammonium bicarbonate, 25 kg of superphosphate and 5-7.5kg of potassium chloride. The mixed application of phosphate fertilizer and organic fertilizer can significantly improve the fertilizer efficiency. If it is saline-alkali soil, it is best not to use potassium chloride, potassium sulfate or potassium nitrate can be used. If it is a compound fertilizer, it should be determined according to the content of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, in the plots with higher fertility. Nitrogen fertilizer should not be used as base fertilizer, but can be used as topdressing.

2. Skillfully applying topdressing

After the northern winter wheat turns green, it is necessary to apply fertilizer according to the seedling stage, 15 kg of superphosphate and 10 kg of potash fertilizer per mu of vigorous wheat seedlings, but it is not suitable to apply nitrogen fertilizer to avoid excessive growth of seedlings, resulting in lodging and yield reduction in the later stage. And for the weak growth of wheat seedlings should be early topdressing, per mu of ammonium bicarbonate 15-20 kg or urea 5-7 kg, it is best to open a ditch deep application, should not be spread, so as not to cause fertilizer volatilization. For the weak growing plots, nitrogen fertilizer should be applied once at the jointing stage of wheat, about 3-4 kg per mu, ditch or hole application. For the vigorous growth of wheat fields, fertilizer and water should be controlled at jointing stage to avoid lodging.

3. Foliar fertilizer spraying

Foliar fertilizer spraying should be carried out in the later stage of wheat growth, at this time, because the absorption of wheat roots is weak, the absorbed nutrients can not meet the maturity of wheat, and it is easy to appear premature senescence. In the north, the phenomenon of dry and hot wind is very easy to occur in the later stage of wheat growth, resulting in a decrease in yield, which can be sprayed 1-2 times at the heading and flowering stage of wheat. 2% concentration of potassium dihydrogen phosphate, usually 50 kg fertilizer solution per mu, with an interval of 10 days and a half months, can enhance the consolidation of wheat grain filling and reduce the damage caused by dry and hot air.
