Pineapple is one of the tropical fruits, native to the Amazon basin of Brazil and Paraguay in South America. It was introduced to China from Brazil in the 16th century and has now spread throughout the tropics. Its edible part is mainly composed of fleshy inflorescence axis and spirally arranged flowers. Let's take a look at the planting method of potted pineapple.

The first step: choose a healthy pineapple, because the pineapple has been stored for some time, and some of the leaves are withered, so if you plan to plant a pineapple, you must buy a pineapple with fresh leaves, such as the white powder of the leaves are still there, the leaves are green, etc., in order to improve the success rate, you can buy one more, two or three potted plants together.

The second step: after selecting the pineapple, cut off the top bud with a knife, tear off the lower layer of bracts, leave it cool for 3 days, wait for the incision to be dry, and then hang water for a few days mainly to wait for the plant to collect water and not rot so easily.

The third step: take a transparent bottle to fill about half of the water, put the top bud on the induced root, about 7 days to see the root tip, turn to the flowerpot to plant. Potted pineapples have no special requirements for soil, and do not need to be watered too hard until they are dry. It doesn't matter whether you use the rooting agent or not, because pineapple is easy to grow, and a pot of 30 centimeters in diameter is enough.

Step 4: after potted pineapple is planted, it should be sunny enough. If you manage it well for more than half a year, you can start a bud, from flower to fruit for about 200 days. In winter, the outdoor temperature should be about 5 ℃ to enter the room for the winter, keep the light and often moist leaves, and wait for the spring to move outside.

Expansion: growth habits of pineapple

1. Soil: pineapple has wide adaptability to soil. Because the root system is shallow and good, sandy loam or mountain red soil with loose, good drainage, rich organic matter and pH value of 5-5.5 is better. Thin, viscous, poorly drained soil and high groundwater level are disadvantageous to the growth of pineapple.

2. Temperature: pineapple originates from tropical high temperature and arid regions of South America, and likes warmth. It is the most suitable for growth at an annual average of 24-27 ℃, can grow in the range of 15-40 ℃, grows slowly below 15 ℃, basically stops growing below 10 ℃, and 5 ℃ is the critical temperature for cold damage.

3. Moisture: pineapple has strong drought tolerance, pineapple plants have the function of self-regulation when soil is short of water, reduce transpiration intensity, slow down respiration, save water in leaves, and maintain life activities. When there is a serious lack of water, the leaves are red and yellow and must be irrigated in time to prevent drying up. Too much Rain Water, high soil moisture, will cause root rot, plant heart rot or withering.

4. Light: pineapple originally grew in semi-shady tropical rain forest and was more shade-tolerant. Due to long-term artificial cultivation and domestication, pineapple grew well under sufficient light, high sugar content and good quality. Lack of light leads to slow growth, high acid content and poor quality of the fruit. The light is reduced by 20% and the output is reduced by 10%. But when the light is too strong and the temperature is high, the leaves turn red and yellow, and the fruit is easy to burn.
