Ginkgo biloba is a green plant often seen in cities nowadays. Its growth cycle is particularly slow, Xiaobian home door has a ginkgo tree, has grown for 20 years, its trunk size can also be held with two hands. Today's Xiaobian brings you the breeding method of Ginkgo biloba.

1. Cutting

Cuttings are cut from ginkgo trees that have grown for many years, inserted into the soil, so that the branches take root and germinate in the soil to form a new tree. Cuttings are divided into old branch cuttings and young branch cuttings. Old branch cuttings are mostly used to cultivate large numbers of trees for various commercial purposes, and young branches are used for family personal cultivation. Old branch cuttings suitable for spring, in the tree to choose better growth of the branches cut into about 20 cm cuttings, cut good to wash with water and then soak ABT rooting powder. Then insert it into the soil, and it will take root and sprout in about a month. Then carry out normal maintenance management. Cuttings are cuttings that are cut and inserted into containers, and the water is changed every 3 days until roots grow and move into the soil.

2. ramets

If the ramets are generally propagated, they are required to cultivate urban greening, because there are more cases of sprouting of Ginkgo trees, especially trees about 15 years old. The method is to clean the soil around the roots of trees, cut the tillers from the trees with sharp tools, and then plant them in other places for cultivation and management. This method can generally bear fruit early.

3. Grafting

Grafting is generally used to produce a large number of ginkgo fruits, generally grafting time is in the summer, but it should be noted that grafting can not be carried out at high temperatures, especially at noon, rainy days are not good. The main method is to cut off a leaf on a well-developed branch, leaving only the petiole, wrapping the cut leaf interface with wet cloth or putting it into water, preferably selecting cuttings as grafting objects, sealing the interface with plastic wrap and other film cloth after grafting, and then carrying out normal maintenance management. Generally, it will bear fruit in 6-7 years.

4. Sowing

Sowing is mainly used to build greening and bonsai. Harvest seeds in the fall, remove the outer skin, dry the seeds, and sow them in winter or spring. When sowing, the seeds should be placed in a dug trench or hole with a depth of 3-4 cm, covered with soil, and the soil should be stepped on thickly. After one year, the seedlings can grow to about 30 cm, and then they can be transplanted. However, the drainage system of the seeding ground is good, and no stagnant water can be produced, otherwise the saplings will be rotted.

Ginkgo reproduction method is almost the above four kinds, as for which way is better or depends on the direction of your planting. If you want to sell trees, then use cutting methods, and is the old branch cutting. If it is mainly fruit production, then use grafting method, four methods vary from person to person, hope these can help you.
